When my anxiety was at its zenith, I felt
somewhat similarly. However, I was less
afraid of passing out and more afraid of
having an anxiety attack (which, in my
case, meant panic and nearly blacking
out).
I got over it slowly by forcing myself to
leave the house, taking my Ativan with me,
and gradually expanding the circle where I
felt comfortable going. I also used to
try to distract myself mentally when I had
to leave the house, either by trying to
rhyme words together, doing arithmetic in
my head, or otherwise keeping my brain
busy to overwhelm the "buzz" of that "I'm
going to pass out/die/have a panic attack"
feeling.
That said, I still wish I could just stay
in my house most of the time.
