One Night Stand

Do you think a one night stand is moral?
Knowing that there is a chance that you
will never see the person again, that
nothing will come from it, do you really
think that a one night stand really
accomplshes anything?
And wether you feel they are moral or
not, would you, or have you ever been part
of a one night stand?

As long as that is all either party
expects to gain from it, i see absolutely
nothing wrong with it at all. Provided
STD safety measures are taken, of course.
I myself have been involved in many one
night stands. I don't feel bad about
them.

I agree with what (I think) sillya said.
A one night stand is fine as long as both
people involved have the expectation that
it won't go any further than that... so
noone is being deceived into thinking it's
the start of a relationship or something.

Like everyone else said, as long as
everyone knows what is going on and you're
being smart about the whole thing, why
not?
I have been a part of one night stands. I
think I was stupid in a few of them, hell,
I was stupid in a few of them, but I'm not
dwelling on it.

I never had a one night stand but I would
say that as long as the two are adults not
cheating on anybody else and they are
responsible for the actions, means like
accepting an unplanned pregnancy from the
one night stand and it is clear that it is
one night stand so that neither of them
will hurt each other feelings from it
being just a one night thing I don't think
there is a moral issue with it. But it is
no means a good practice do to disease..

I, personally, think one night stands are
irresponsible and stupid about 98% of the
time. Mainly because teens account for
the majority of the people who do this and
that is always dumb, I don't care how
careful they try to be.
If you do not know someone well enough to
know how they feel about pregnancy as a
possibility or if they have diseases or
not, then you've no business sleeping with
that person. At all. I say this because
men who do it are the first to whine when
the chick wants an abortion or he doesn't
want to pay child support and girls
actually are surprised when the guy
doesn't stay interested in them because we
have wildly different ideas than guys do,
but won't accept it.
The only time the above is not really an
issue is when the two parties are
adults-and I mean like 30+. And even
then, it's probably not a very good idea.
All in all, I don't think they are moral
or immoral, I just think it shows a lack
in character and maturity.

I think women who have frequent one night
stands are often seeking affection and
attention because there is something
missing in their lives. I don't think
that makes them 'slags' or of low morals
however.
Men aren't so complicated. They have
frequent one night stands because they
want sex.
I'm generalising of course but I think
warning bells should ring if a woman has
frequent one night stands - things
probably aren't going so well in her life.

a man having frequent one night stands is

Alot of loosey-goosey's here.
So much for saving oneself for your
future spouse.
I find a woman who is...well for lack of a
better word "easy" as one would need to be
to have a one night stand or in one
persons case "many", very unattractive as
I know most men do as well. Basically
guys go after them because they are an
easy fix. Not someone they would take home
to mom or marriage material. No guy wants
to marry a woman who has been with a dozen
guys.

Jules i totally agree with you on this
one...
I was one of those girls
i slumped into depression, and turned to
sex
i lost my best friend, my boyfriend, and
my mom (friendship wise) all in the same
year
so i was looking for affection..
and I turned to hooking up with different
guys...
i do no think of myself as a promiscuous
person or as an "easy" girl
i was in a hard time in my life
all of my boyfriends have taken me home to
meet their mothers and
2 of them had actually proposed to me (i
turned them down, obviously we're too
young)...
but that's my story with one night stands

Sex is a form of affection sometimes but
it can also be just sex. I don't think
strangers would see it as 'affection'
rather than just sex.

Thanks Marfa, that's what I'm trying to
say - I don't think anyone
who has one night stands is 'easy', be
they male or female, just that women are
often seeking something different from
them than men. Again, I'm generalising, I
can't speak for all women.

ive never had a one night stand
i take sex pretty seriously only because i
didnt ever wanna take the chance of
anything happeneing with the worng person
or when i was not ready. i wasnt on bc
ever so i knew i could gte pregnant even
with a condom i didnt wanna take the
chance.
however i believe that if you a one night
stand is your kinda thing and you are
mature enough and safe enough then why
not?

That sure was the case for me for most of
them.
A couple were just for the enjoyment of
sex, though, but the others came to pass
after I got out of a horrible relationship
and I felt the need to validate my
attractiveness by sleeping with differen
types of guys. I'm sure that if you knew
me at the time you would not have thought
of me as an "easy" type of woman.
I think. Sometime's it's hard to look at
things retrospectively and be accurate.

It's only happened once for me. I've also
had a casual sexual relationship, sort of
like many one night stands with the same
person... but he ended up weepy and
thinking he was falling in love with me,
so that is an example of when it's not a
good idea, when the two involved aren't on
the same page. I really just prefer the
emotion connection felt with affectionate
we-care-about-each-other sex. That said
even with boyfriends it hasn't always felt
like that. Even in a relationship it is
sometimes still just sex. In fact I've
only had one boy really emotionally
penetrate me with his love makin'.
