Yes,you can take valtrex. The mother of my
niece,whom i adopted,contracted genital
herpes when she was 2 months along. She
took valtrex at that time. She stopped
around her 4th month because she was too
embarrased to continue taking it because
she didnt want anyone to know,i only know
because i was with her when she was
diagnosed. The doctor told her to take it
because he didnt want her to have an
outbreak around her due date which could
pass herpes to the baby. She never would
take it and actually risked passing it to
my niece. Thank God she was okay. Part of
the reason she doesnt have custody
anymore. But if you are iffy about taking
it during the first trimester, just make
sure you take it during your third to
prevent out breaks around your due date.
Hope all is well.

Please talk to your doctor about this,
herpes can be very dangerous to your baby
ONLY if you have an active outbreak
duriung birth. But you and your doctor
need to be on the same page when it comes
to this. He/She would be able to tell you
exactly how to take care of this.
I think valtrex is safe, but please talk
to a professional before you take
anything. I have heard that pregnancy can
cause you to have more outbreaks and some
doctors have you take valtrex towards the
end of your pregnancy so you wont have and
outbreak when you deliver. I have herpes
and I havent had an outbreak, and I dont
see my doctor until next Friday....
