1st Time Sex And Bc Pills Posted: 08-18-07 07:22am
HELP, i am very much confused and
mis-informed... Iam a 21 yr old Indian
virgin and soon i am to get married.....
I need to know HOW and when iam
supposed to take the birth control pills
after i have my 1st intercourse.... Will i
have to take these pills days before i get
married or will it be effective if i take
the pill after i have sex... There is no
way that i want to get pregnant for
atleast an year after my first
encounter.... Also let me know if the
effectiveness of the pill depends on the
frequency of my sexual activity with my
partner, as in that if i have sex daily
will it make the pill less effective?
Hope to get the best of advice and help..!

you can start the pill before u get
married .. u must take one pill each day
at the same time .. it takes about a week
for the pill to work. no the amount of sex
u have will not effect how the pill works
. you must continue to take the pills
everyday and your last week of pills is
usually when u will get your period and
after that u just start a new pack

Um, you're supposed to start on birth
control pills BEFORE you have sex... If
you don't, then they don't work, and then
you end up pregnant. You should go get a
prescription for pills and start them
right now!

No, absolutely not. You will need to start
the pills at least one WEEK
before your have your first sexual
encounter.

As long as you take your pill every single
day at the same time, you will not get
pregnant.

No and no. The effectiveness of the pill
has nothing to do with the frequency of
sex. The effectiveness of the pill comes
completely from how well YOU take it every
day, at the same time.

i would start the pills as soon as
possible. it sometimes takes up to 4
months for the pills to become in full
effect, so take them now just to be sure
you dont become pregnant

What pills were you on!?
Most pills, except for the very low dose
or progesterone only pills, become fully
effective after one week, not four
months!!! The lower dose pills may take up
to one month, but I've never heard of a
pill taking four months to protect from
pregnancy!
Now, it is true that it can take up to
three-four month for your body to stop
feeling adverse side effects. But side
effects and efficacy are not related.

I have no idea what your doctor was
talking about in reference to "full
effect". I've never heard that before. As
for the two-week waiting period, that's
understandable.
Most pills say one week just in case you
ovulated some time before or just as you
started the pills. It takes about 72 hours
(maybe less?) for the egg to give up and
die. So, that's what the one week waiting
period is for.
