Hello all-
i have had some really strange symptoms.
First off, I had a baby 3 years ago and I
starting noticing some of these after she
was born....About a year after.
First it started with this really weird
weakness in my arms and sometimes my legs.
I would also get achiness in them. While
I was pregnant, my little girl must've
been right on my sciatic nerve because I
had a numbness down my left leg. When I
would shave it would feel odd. The doctor
suggested she was on my nerve.
Then I started noticing heart
palpitations. I caould be doing nothing
and all of a sudden, my heart would feel
like it stopped and then jump started
again. It freaked me out. I should make
it clear that I am a very very anxious
person. My father died unexpectedly when
I was 14 and ever since I am a
hypochondriac. But I don't want to be
thrown out of the doctor's office
everytime because of this.
Okay, so on...A few times and I have it
now, I notice that my throat gets a weird
feeling. I feel like there's something in
it. I even had an x-ray done and there
was nothing. I have severe allergies and
so that is what it was said to be. I am
constantly clearing my throat, but that
does nothing. It isn't there all the time
though. Like I had it yesterday but I
didn't notice it all day. It comes and
goes. I feel it is more noticable after I
drink.
I have had cat scans, worn a halter
monitor, have gone to my doctor saying I
thought I had ms. He said no. I am a
highly stressed person, but is it possible
this is all stress related? Also, what
are the culprit symptoms of ms?
Thank you!

Here's my story:
i also have been trying to find out what
is wrong with me. Btw, my name is
jennifer and i'm 21. At 15 I started
getting numb in my lip and it moved to my
arm (on my left side) so I went to the
hospital to see what was wrong (if it
could possibly be a stroke). Well when
all the tests were done they found
nothing, and the feeling had went away.
Well I got these symptoms on and off once
in a while, but I figured they would say
it was nothing so I did not pay attention
to them. Until may of last year, when I
felt like I was going to pass out. I went
to 1 hospital, they did a ct-scan checked
my vitals and said everything was fine.
The released me, even though I was still a
bit dizzy. The next day, things got
worse, so I went to another hospital.
When I got there they admitted me because
my white cells were high. I spent 6 days
there a bit numb and disoriented, with no
luck. I had 2 mris, 2 eeg's and a
ct-scan, nothing. I was released when I
refused to have them probe my shunt or do
a spinal tap (they had told me I may have
ms, and this was the only way for them to
find out). I get the numbness all the
time now, and it has actually been
happening for about a week now (same as
you~up in my left eye with some blurred
vision) but also down the left side of my
face. I hope maybe we can come to a
conclusion. I'm tired of living like
this! However, I do not experience pain.

I think this has to do with you
hypocondria. I think that you may have a
anxiety disorder, I too have the throat
and hard to swallow, and they heart
palpations you described. Do you have any
other symptoms like heavy
breathing.......Dizzyness? Fear? That is
a sign of a anxiety attack.
Still you dont have to have a anxiety
attack to have an anxiety disorder. Let
me know something.

I was diagnosed with anxiety when released
from the hospital in may, but I took paxil
and it did nothing. I mean I know I have
anxiety, but some of the time these
problems come on when i'm not even
stressed (like right now) my tongue still
feels like something is pressed up against
it, causing it to be numb.

It doesnt matter if you "feel" stressed or
not, you can be perfectly fine and have a
annxiety attack. Also worrying about
things.....Can also make things happen.
You know like thinking something is wrong
with you....I have noticed not to worry
about, not to think about it, just go on
until you pass out or something.....I know
that sound really bad, but what can you
do? When doctors wont give you anything.
Well are you depressed at all? I would
consider to go see a therapist or someone
who could prescribe a anti anxiety pill.
It may take 1 or 7 times to get the right
medication for anxiety there are
several.....But I wouldnt take zanax they
are addictive.....Prozac I would be
wary....Any other should be good to try.

I know I have stress, and I worry about
what is happening, but it is not worrying
that brings it on, I get worried after it
happens. I just want it to go away!

you think it is. Just go to a couselor
or physc or even a medical doc get
something for anxiety see if it helps?

to figure something out. Email is ksgirl02@co

well it has made the ms act up difference
now. Well today I am have a bad time with
it ms. But before it came on I started
to see bugs crawl on me and I thought it
was the bipolar but it was not that it was
the ms telling me it was coming.. A new
sign for me to know. My signs that is is
coming are weakness in my left side,
numbness. My eyes act funny, my voice
sounds funny, if I get no sleep then
thats a big sign for me. I dont know if
anyone else see bug but I hope I am
letting everyone know of the sign.
I to get very depressed when the ms comes
so that tell me I need more of my
depression meds to help me because one
time I tryed to take my life because of
the ms and feeling like I wasnt whole and
wasnt a woman anymore. But know I know I
am whole and I am loved by my boyfriend
and he will never leave me . We will get

I have also had difficulty swallowing.
There is a test to find out if you have a
condition called "gastroparesis". You
have to eat something that has been
treated with a radioactive substance (you
can't see or taste it and I brought a
sandwich from home - the lab added the
test substance) and they then do a scan to
watch your swallowing progress.
Following is a definition of the
condition. I kept feeling a lump in my
throat, or thought I did, but nothing was
there. Food seemed to not want to go
down and I even lost considerable weight
because the blockage would cause
everything to more or less pile up in one
place, convincing my body that I was
"full". I also started having bouts of
nausea, usually minor, except a few months
ago I had an episode of uncontrolled
vomiting and after the 9th. Time, when I
was lying on the floor next to the toilet,
vomiting every time I lifted my head, my
husband called 911.
In my opinion, you need to ask your doctor
to rule out gastroparesis before you
decide that difficulty swallowing doesn't
mean anything.
"gastropresis results from functional
abnormalities of the vagus nerve and is
not related to impairment of the lower
lumbar nerves. The most common identified
causes for gastropareisi are diabetes
mellitus, surgery to the vagus nerve,
hypothyroidism, electrolyte abnormalities
and some medications. Depending on the
cause for your gastroparsis, treatment may
not be lifetime."
good luck getting answers. Nothing wrong
with being a hypochondriac, by the way.
You have a right to know if your symptoms
mean something or not and even
hypochondria indicates that something is
wrong. The question is only, "what is
wrong?"
