Help! Don't Know If This Is the Proper Forum... Posted: 08-22-07 16:54pm
I had a total hysterectomy and bilateral
oophorectomy 5 years ago, due to severe
endometriosis. I was 30 at the time.
They removed everything but my appendix.
No real problems since then (at least with
that). I'm not on hormones and haven't
ever been.
The last 3 months I've been going to
Curves gym and doing their "6 Week
Solution" nutrition plan. I've been on a
high-protein, 1600 calories per day
program for almost 6 weeks now. I've
responded really well, lost weight and
body mass and inches.
Today I woke up and after urinating
realised there was a large amount of blood
in the toilet. I went to the bathroom at
lunch to find blood again, on my underwear
and after I urinated. I realised I'm also
cramping.
I immediately went to my doctor and she
suggested that because of my new exercise
and diet regimen, my hormones from other
glands are now ramped up and I'm sloughing
off excess endometrial tissue that was
left over (this is possible, as my surgeon
said I was riddled with the stuff
everywhere). She doesn't think there's
any cause for concern, but she's referring
me to a gyno anyway.
Anybody else experiencing this? Is my doc
on the right track? Any ideas or advice
is really welcome.
