Breast Feeding My 4 Month Old... Posted: 08-22-07 18:53pm
I stopped breast feeding my 4 month old
when she was 7 weeks old. She has been
throwing up all of her formulas since. We
are on the 4 formula now. I had spoke with
someone and they told me to start breast
feeding her a little to help build her
digestive system. I started back just
today. And when she stopped suckling a
little I squeeze the breast and a pinkish
color came from one of the ducts. What
could this be? Is it blood? Should I
continue letting her suck? I am going to
call my doctor tomorrow just to find out.
But just curious now... Any answers
anyone.

I'm sorry you are having a difficult time
with feeding your child. Usually
switching formulas to your child's
specific needs will help reduce the amount
of spit up, though small amounts of
spitting up is normal.
What did you find out from your doctor? I
think it is most likely blood. Stopping
breastfeeding and then starting up again
later takes a lot of time and patience and
sometimes the baby can pop a small
capillary which makes things look a little
scary, but there's nothing to worry about.
It's never a bad thing to get it checked
out by the doctor either if you are really
worried.
