I came to this forum not to debate the
habit/addiction, but to get some
inspiration to quit. Thank you, Eric.
You’ve been a great help.

if you want to leave healthy then you must
quite but if you want to die early then it
was the best way. he.. honestly it was
serious, have you know that in every stick
of cigarette you've lost seven seconds of
your possible life span.

It stinks! Posted: 04-21-08 21:01pm
I smoke and know from experience that a
good reason to stop smoking is not only
for health reasons but to cure the stinky
clothes syndrome.
I hate putting on clothes, that appear to
smell like fabric softner, in my house and
then leave my house to only smell my own
smokey smelled clothes.
People in society act different towards
people who have tobacco smoke smelling
clothes.
I don't typically care what people think
of me, but I definitly hate stinking
around people that judge me.
I bet it's nicer to smell good around
judgmental people!

Reasons why you should stop smoking other than health Posted: 05-29-08 09:54am
Interesting,
Everyone is different, this is obvious,
and smokers are some of the most hard core
there is, they hate anyone against
smokers, so I can imagine there are plenty
who fall into this catagory, and will
never stop until their health quits, and
they die.
How anyone would want to die of cancer,
heart disease or emphysema, I just don't
know. Have you even been with a person or
worse, a loved one going through any of
the above? It is a real wake up call for
even hard core smokers, I can assure you.
My Mother recently died from empysema, and
talk about suffering sucking in every
ounce of air you can with every breath, it
is like drowning every day for years, so
no thanks, I don't want to leave this
world sucking my last breath with oxygen
tubes prolonging the agony.
Yes, it is tough to kick the habit of
tobacco and nicotine, but when you see a
loved one suffer, it wakes you up, not to
say it is any easier to stop, but it does
wake you up to look for alternatives. My
Mother never smoked a day in her life, but
my Father was a chain smoker, so second
hand smoke killed my Mother, and since my
Father died of heart attack at 46, sure
doesn't bode well for children, so another
wake up call, second hand smoke kills.
If you are at all concerned with others,
then do it for them if you don't care
about your own health. For those who
cannot smoke, or want to smoke, there is
an answer which worked for me. You
probably have heard about it as it was on
CNBC stock report that I learned about it
a few months ago, there are electronic
cigarettes on market which give you the
taste of tobacco, FAUX smoke, which is
actually vaporized water which acts like
real smoke, amazingly realistic, and most
of all, satisfying the habit of wanting to
smoke, as in, having smoke in hand, mouth
and inhaling to help with nervousness, as
example.
With no carcinogens as with tobacco
cigarettes, you can satisfy your habit and
nicotime addiction without killing
yourself, not a bad option as I saw it.
Better yet, you can use it to kick the
nicotine addiction as you can adjust down
nicotine until you are off it completely
like I now am. I was not heavy smoker,
and everyone is affected differently by
nicotine. I was able to kick nicotine
habit in just over two months, but I can
still enjoy the harder habit of having
something to hold and inhale which still
appeases smoking side of habit. Now I can
stop whenever I want, but not kill myself
in the mean time, and that is something no
patch, gum, pills or drugs can accomplish.
Chatix is causing people to have
accidents, some fatal, so pilots have been
issued orders to stop using drugs, so this
is a real wake up call.
So with so many reasons to stop, and few
valid reasons to continue, you still have
to respect peoples free wills to do what
they want with their lives. With that in
mind, electronic FAUX cigarettes are the
only answer in my experience. A safer
alternative which is so close to real
tobacco cigarettes just makes good common
sense, as well as save the other cents,
money. If you don't want to quit, fine,
switch, then you save your health, save
others health around you since no second
hand smoke issues exist with these
systems, and best of all for those who
don't want to quit, show and tell others
and get paid to stop smoking, now that is
the reason I still use FAUX smokes.
No matter where I smoke, restaurants,
airports, casinos, hotels, everyone asks,
what are you smoking? And all I do is
hand out a business card and get paid to
show and tell. So with that, I have found
the perfect solution to a long time habit
of smoking tobacco cigarettes. Marboro
never paid me a dime for smoking their
brand all those years and displaying their
box everytime I light up. (g) If they
had, I might still be smoking. This is
the real solution to those who don't want
to stop, and for those who cannot, so
search out the information on this new
technology, sure got me hooked.

Cancer, Heart Disease, Emphysema, what's your preference? Posted: 06-30-08 07:38am
Interesting,
I thought I had read or heard it all for
reasons not to kick the addiction and
habit of smoking, but this thread tops
them all. Seeing anyone depressed enough
to want to die is heart breaking, but
dying of old age is far better than dying
young of cancer, heart disease or
emphysema, this is a fact.
Your post is sad to say the least, so you
honestly think dying of old age is worse
than dying of cancer, heart disease and
emphysema? Let me tell you my story. I
watched my Mother die for three years with
emphysema. Personally, this is the worst
of the three in my experience. Why?
Simple, a person with emphysema describes
it as if each breath is their last just
like drowning every day for years, so you
want to compare poopooing or peeing in
your bed as difficult?
My Mother simply gave up, even though we
all didn't want her to, she made her own
decision, and yes, in her last stages of
disease, she had to be in hospital on
oxygen. As a child, I drowned, and
thankfully, I was brought back by
lifeguard, but I will never forget the
feeling of taking your last gasp of air
before water fills your lungs and you pass
out and all goes black, quiet, and
peaceful. Guess this is what death feels
like, but watching my Mother die for three
years was like watching her drown for a
full three years. Since we were all
helpless to save her life, this compounded
how we all felt, so you want to compare
your story to millions of others who are
going through the same thing my family
did. Sorry, your story is not even close.
Pooping and peeing in your bed does not
compare to drowning and gasping for air
for three years.
My Mother never smoked a day in her life,
but my Father did, and since he died of
heart attack at 46, my Mother was only
exposed to second hand smoke for about 23
years and it still did her in. You never
know what disease will befall you as a
smoker, or who will be subject to dying
from second hand smoke. Having seen the
consequences of smoking and living with
someone who does, I know I would rather
have cancer or heart disease than
emphysema if given the choice.
Everyone is different, and everyone has an
excuse to not stop smoking, and over the
years, I had plenty of my own excuses,
just as you read on these forums. It is
never easy to kick the habit, but for
those who don't want to, there was little
help for them. I had my excuses, but
seeing my Mother die a slow and tortured
death for three years was enough to
motivate me to look at every product on
the market all over again.
I had quit a dozen times, but never could
stay off smokes for long, and each time I
quit, it got ten times tougher to quit the
next time. You have to want to stop
before you have a chance to succeed, and
this is the most important aspect, and I
didn't want to stop all the other times I
tried. I am sure most can relate to this,
some people just enjoy a smoke, and this
makes kicking the habit even more
difficult.
You have to be motivated to want to stop
smoking, and I was finally at that point
given the fear of emphysema and watching
my Mother die over three years of drowning
and gasping for last breath every day.
That did it for me. So my research
started all over again to see what was new
on market for I had already tried the
nicotine gum, patches, lozenges, never
mind the hypnosis and acupuncture, and now
I found they had drugs to help kick
habit.
I went to a stop smoking seminar put on by
local medical group, and the only thing
they were pushing were drugs, and I am not
one who takes any medicines, not want to,
so having heard all the downsides to
drugs, I kept searching, and I am glad I
did. I found the product that worked for
me, as it did for the 40 year smoker who
introduced me to new product. It is a
nano tech electronic FUAX cigarette, and
as strange as it sounded, it works, and
works for everyone who tries it.
Since some on forums don't like
promotional testimonies, I won't mention
the one I found to be the best, but I
researched them all, suckers anyone else
who wants a safe no drug solution to kick
nicotine addiction, and do it safely with
no drugs or typical withdrawal symptoms.
Whether you want to stop, or don't, this
is the only real solution on the market
which offers a health safe alternative.
It looks like a cigarette, smokes like a
cigarette, but has no known carcinogens,
and you dial down your level of nicotine
at your own personal pace to purge
nicotine addiction at the rate best suited
to your addiction level. Not everyone is
same, so you can easily learn how your
body reacts with each reduction of
nicotine delivery.
Will this work for everyone? Well, since
I started, it has allowed me to kick the
nicotine addiction entirely in about two
months. Now I wasn't a heavy smoker, so
again, everyone is different, and I
respect that. It may take you twice as
long to get off nicotine, but given the
fact everyone can do it at their personal
preference level, it works for everyone I
have introduced it to. For you hardcore
smokers who will not stop smoking, then
don't, but you should at least consider
switching to a health safe alternative,
and experiment with dialing down nicotine
level, and who knows, it just might be the
answer you were looking for, one where you
can smoke, but not impact your health, or
the health of those around you with danger
of second hand smoke. Sure made sense to
me.
