I have been experiencing heavy bleeding
and irregular periods for several years
now. I have had two D&C's and now a
year after the last one, all symptoms are
back.
I just had a sonogram (internal and
external) and was told that I have
multiple fibroids and cysts on both
ovaries. A biopsy was done and I have not
yet gotten the results. My doctor said
that by the look of the sonogram she does
not believe that anything is cancerous but
as I am 47 and have had problems for
several years, she feels that a total
hysterectomy is called for. I went to her
to have Novasure and she highly
recommended it until the sonogram.
Do you think this is drastic? Should I
give some of the other treatments a try or
just go with the hysterectomy and "get it
over with"? Thanks for your opinions!

I had heavy bleeding for months before I
went in for surgery on my uterus for
fibroids. It turned out that there was
more there than the doctor could do in
just a couple surgeries. so she
recommended a partial hysterectomy. I had
that done when I was around 31. I have no
troubles now. But your fibroids are on
your ovaries.
