Can Sinus Or Allergy Cause My Headaches? Posted: 08-27-07 16:22pm
I have headaches when I lay down to sleep,
and feel a little better when I get up and
walk around. I have had every test there
is, all normal.
But I have never had a test for sinus or
allergy.
Can these problems be the cause for my
headaches. The back of my head, I feel
pressure when I lay down, or recline in a
chair.
Thank you very much

My ENT once told me that when you lie down
the fluid in your body shifts and can
cause nasal congestion. This could likely
be causing your headaches. I know it
causes pressure which can lead to a
headache. You may want to see an Ear,
Nose, and Throat specialist. If you need
a referral for your insurance, call your
primary care physician and see if they can
give it to you. I hope this helps. - T

Hello, yes, sinus pressure built up can
casue bad headaches, one does not have to
lie down for this to occur. Also,
allergies, seasonal or just something that
is new to your environment can casue
headaches. Mix 1/4 teaspoon of salt, 1/4
tsp baking soda and 1/2 cup lukewarm
water. Mix all to stir well, then close
off your left nostril, pur a little of hte
salt/water mixture into your right hand
and snort some of the salt/water mixture.
then change sides, close off your right
nostril and snort in some of the mixture.
I do this everyday to clear my sinuses and
it releaves the pressure built up inside
my head. My ear, nose and throat Dr.
prescribes this to all his patients....its
all natural and it works..lots of folks
can't snort things, but its worth learning
how!

Hello again! Since sinus pressure can be
caused by many things, including a cold or
flu, sinus infection, hay fever, or
Vasomotor Rhinitis I have tried to find
you a link with some good information.
Some of the information on this link
refers to infants and children, but the
basic information is the same. It
explains the different causes and the
common treatments. If you are not having
any nasal discharge then the saline
mixture that Fairy*Godmother suggested
would probably work. My husband says that
it has been recommended by his Dr. also.
But be careful if you are having any
discharge. Make note of it. If it does
not clear up within a few days you may
need to see a doctor to get treatment.
Sinus infections can be serious if they
get too bad.

diagnosed with this and it has a boat load

Thank You All For You Responses And Help! Posted: 08-29-07 23:14pm
I had the results from a scan that my
Neuro Dr. wanted. I always have a copy of
any test sent to me along with the doctor.
Than I look it up on the computer to see
whats up.
Two flags were noted on the FINAL RESULTS
1) "There are prominent level 1 lymp
nodes demonstrated biaterally. These
however do not meet size criterion for
pathology."
2) "Mucus retention cysts or polyp is
demonistrated in the right maxillary
sinus."
I will try the salt/baking soda/warm water
from the God Mother. I thank you.
Should I go see a allergery Doctor, ear,
eye, throat?
I have an appointment with the Neuro Dr
Tuesday to discuss the Final Results of my
scan.

After much research online. I think what I
may have is a form of Occipital Lymph Node
glands swollen, and or blocked, thus
causing my headache problem.
