Thanks girls I was fine pretty much after
posting it on here
Diane the zoo was great! My parents had
gone last year so they knew what it was
like and where to go which helped. Im glad
I didnt take jay before he was 4 though,
lots of walking involved and younger kids
get tired and just dont appreciate it as
much. He thoroughly enjoyed himself, but
he was getting bored of animals by the end
lol. There were a lot of parents there
with babies and toddlers but I think they
were there more for themselves as
somewhere to go to get out the house and
distract the kids kind of thing as they
couldnt really understand about the
animals or anything.
We went on a train ride around 1 part of
the zoo, watched them feeding the lions,
there was a sealion show and a falconry
display where we sat on the front row both
times
It was a great day! We were there 6 hours
and we still missed some of the
enclosures! Its a huge zoo....bigger than
london zoo - the last one I went to about
6 or so years ago.
I always get sad about the animals being
kept in cages though, some of the
enclosures honestly had nothing much for
the animals to do. The elephants just had
this sand rocks and water, no greenery or
trees whatsoever...that just isnt right,
and a lot of them, we thought, should have
had more space to run properly as they can
in the wild. But other than that it was
great. A huge variety of animals and they
all looked healthy and well taken care
of.
I bought him a water filled ornament with
2 sealions swimming in it, and a monkey
teddy with the zoo name on it that opens
and closes its hands and has a hook thing
inside the fabric of its tail - so it can
hang on stuff.
