Lumber Puncture with xray guidance Posted: 08-29-07 06:06am
Hiya, I am sooo scared about going in for
a lumber puncture. I had went in for one
in June this year and they attempted it 6
times and never managed to get any fluid,
they said I may have fused ones, I am now
going in again to have it attempted with
xray guidance, has anyone had a lumber
puncture done this way???
I was in agony for bout 4 days after my
visit lumber puncture attempt and dont
want to go through the same pain again!!

What is the purpose of the lumbar
puncture? Are they trying to give you
some type of epidural injection or are
they wanting a CSF sample? Can you ask
for conscious sedation for the procedure.
That is what i would do if it were me.
