Normal symptoms for hiatal hernia ? Burning pain/nausea + st Posted: 08-29-07 13:39pm
I have been having alot of burning
pain/nausea for years. It radiates above
my stomach & between my ribs. Within the
last year i have been experiencing severe
pain & pressure in my stomach that comes &
goes. I havent had an appetite for a
couple days so i haven't ate much.
Yesterday i had the worst pain yet. My
stomach started cramping really bad with
sharp pains. Hurt so bad i could barely
walk. When i laid down i had so much
pressure pushing up that i had shortness
of breath (which scared me!). I took a
nexium & a zantac & about 2 hours later
the pressure was relieved but still had
excruciating pain in my stomach & between
my ribs. Then all of a sudden i got the
chills really bad & started shaking all
over & had a fever (normal temp is around
96.4 for me) I took Tylenol & fever came
down within the next hour. Today i woke up
with really bad nausea & the same awful
gripping stomach pain. Is this normal with
a hiatal hernia or is this something
worse? Thanks for reading!
A hiatus hernia can be painful and causing
nausea, vomiting and acid reflux. But
you'll first need a gastroscopy to exclude
a peptic ulcer or something else as a
possible cause of the symtpoms. You can
consult some internist about your
condition for an appointment and expert
advice.
