Good News! Posted: 08-29-07 22:25pm
So, I'm not sure if I posted about this on
here, but here's a bit of background. When
I got pregnant, my mom and stepdad told me
that there wouldn't be any babies in the
house. So basically they were telling me
to find a place to live after I have my
baby boy.
The thing is...my father (who lives in IL
and pays child support till I'm 23 or
married) is paying for my college tuition
as of now. The only thing with that is, I
either have to live in a dorm or with my
mom. And we all know that you really can't
have kids in a college dorm. So, anyway,
they were basically kicking me out and
causing me to give up my college tuition
when I will still have 1 1/2 years left.
Anyway, the good news is....
Today my mom told me that they will be
moving me upstairs in one of the larger
rooms (my room currently is big enough for
a bed) so that I can set up a crib and
what not for the baby in the same room.
She told me that they would rather me live
here for a while, save up money and go to
school then moving into a place right away
and not being able to finish college.
YAY!!! That news made me soo happy.

That's great news.
You know that most colleges have
university family housing, which usually
counts as living in a dorm since they are
owned by the university. . There is
sometimes a waiting list, though. It
sounds like you have a pretty good option.
I am glad she changed her mind.

Thats good that you'll be able to stay
home!!
I'm just curious why you would haveto live
in the dorms or with your parents?! That
doesn't make sense to me, maybe the
'rules' are different were you are.
Oh and karin is right, most colleges do
have family dorms if you ever do need to
move out maybe you could look into that!

I have to stay home or live in a dorm
because that's how the court papers were
written back when they got a divorce 10
years ago. It doesn't matter to me how
they were written, because, well it works
in my favor. Also, the college I
go to is in the middle of Denver, so I
know they don't have any dorms. I would
transfer to another school, but I've
already been to 3 colleges in 3 years, and
transferring is a pain. So I'm glad that
she turned around finally and will let me
live at home.
