My Girlfriend Doesn't Masturbate... Is This Weird? Posted: 08-30-07 12:01pm
Well, my girlfriend recently opened up to
me a lot more when we were making out, she
let me feel up her body and breasts and
everything and its made us much closer and
open to talk about a lot of things since
we kind of took our relationship a next
step.
With everything a lot more open now, I
figured i'd ask her if she masturbates. I
didn't want to say the exact word, so I
just kind of asked if she has tried to
give herself pleasure at all, and she said
no.
Shes never been the type of girl to ever
talk about sex or anything, or even make
jokes related to it. She even admit that
she feels comfortable talking to me about
it, because with anyone else she'd freak
out.
Shes almost 19, is it normal for some
girls to just not try masturbating in
their lifetime or something?

It's perfectly normal. Especially if
she's a virgin. Many girls will lie about
whether or not they do, but if she is
comfortable with you, then odds are she's
telling the truth. Girls are taught their
whole lives to avoid sex, sexual things,
or being sexual because for women it is
equated with being dirty or a promiscuous
person. The opposite is true for boys,
that's why it's widely accepted that they
masturbate but it isn't for women.

It better not be weird because I haven't.
As a kid it just never occured to me, now
the thought of it just doesn't interest
me. To me, sex is about the relationship,
which requires another person. I don't
have a problem with others doing it or
think it's wrong, I just don't.

Why do you think it's abnormal? I never
masturbated alone in my life and I am 43.
The first 42 years is because I thought
one never should, and didn't know there is
such act for female before at least 35.
You can see how naive I was. Considering
me and my husband spent the first 5 years
of marriage apart, now I felt I missed out
a lot. The last a year or so is because
there is no desire to do so.
