I was taking YAZ for 2 weeks and had
horrible side effects. Headaches, horrible
nausea, and tons of emotional side effects
to the point it was effecting my
relationship with my boyfriend and my
family.
I have stopped taking it 4 days ago and
next month plan to switch to a different
BC. Most of the side effects have gone
away but now i have gotten my period!
I had my last one 2 weeks ago and am not
due for the next one until the 10th of
sept. It has me very worried.
My question.......is this normal for me to
get my period after stopping YAZ even
though i should get it for another 2
weeks?
I would be very grateful for all opinions
and advice about this.

It is very normal to have withdraw
bleeding from going off birth control!
It's not something to worry about at all.

My other question would be......should i
still expect my period at the normal time
in 2 weeks? Or will it take a few months
for my cycle to return to normal?

It could take a few months. I definitely
wouldn't expect it in two weeks since
you're bleeding now. Count this as your
first off-pill period.

ALSO you can start a new pill ANYTIME, not
just when you are on your period!
You just have to wait 7 full days for it
to be effective.

What if you have already ovulated?

That is why you must wait 7 full days...
It takes 7 full days to put your ovaries
at rest, which is important if you start
the pill BEFORE you ovulate.
If you start AFTERWARDS, the wiating 7
full days is important because the egg
dies within 48 hours, there is a small
window, it is not very much time.

NOW, if you have already ovulated, and you
worry about preganncy from sex..
A copper IUD can be inserted within 7 days
of sex, and it does prevent implantation
as well.
