hey Ive not had much results with anything except what ive already told you about. It may very well work for you. not sure about wether or not it would keep your jaw from dislocating again or not. the only way to tell is for you to try it.

NTIs are mostly designed for people who clench their teeth and get headaches. I did get one a few years ago but really didn't notice any difference. I also felt unfortable with it in because my jaw did not feel stable; kindof like a rocker feeling. My dentist even made a new one for me that was bigger to try and stop that instability feeling, but it didn't work. I went back to a full bite splint but one that was much less bulkier than all previous ones and set on my bottom teeth instead of my overbite top teeth. I love this one and it did make a HUGE difference.

God bless...

Hey there! Just wanted to give my opinion of the NTI. I have TMJ and am miserable a lot of the time. When I first got my NTI from the dentist I didn't use it because it is so big and uncomfortable. Now I use it every night. It doesn't solve the problem of TMJ, but the longer I leave it in at night, the better I feel in the morning. By the end of the day, I hurt really bad, but it does help a little. I'm not sure if it would help your friend, though. The problem with TMJ is everyone reacts differently to treatments. Good luck!
