Q: Pregnant? unprotected sex ( condom broke ) on first day of menst
asked by: DoctorQuestion on September 2nd, 2007
I was on my first day of my period and I had sex. The condom broke and I felt it. My periods usually last 5 to 6 days but it only lastest 3 this time. I've never had unprotected sex so I am really scared. When do I take a pregnancy test? Just to be sure.

Pregnancy Answer A3381
Having sex during menstruation usually can’t cause conception. There are some chances for conceiving if your menstrual cycle is short (21 days is the shortest but still normal cycle). The dilemma is to confirm if you really had a menstrual period (menstruation) or another type of vaginal bleeding. The only way you can find out if you are pregnant or not is to take a pregnancy test when your next period becomes late.
