Mucus Plug?? Posted: 09-02-07 17:27pm
so I am 38 weeks and 2 days...just went to
the restroom and there was this (hope this
isnt tmi) slimy bugar looking thing in my
panties. I called the hospital and they
said that I most likely have lost my mucus
plug. Does this mean that I could go into
labor anytime now? Im not spotting or
anything and my water hasnt broke. I have
been having off and on contractions
throughout the day, but not consistent,
and I have felt the baby move today. I
really hope this means I am close to
labor!!! Opinions PLEASE!!

Some women lose their mucos plusg then
there body makes a new one to protect the
baby because it is not time yet. You
could go into labor at anytime. It will
happen when you and the baby are ready.

well, a video that i watched they said
there are 3 actual signs of labor but we
wait until 2 to call the dcotr....now once
your contractions are close together i
think about 5 minutes from start to start
you should call your dcotr....mucus plug
could be another 2 weeks but since your
having contractions with that you could be
closer than youi think!!! lucky i still
havent lost mine im 38 weeks and ...wait
what is your due date?????? mine is
september 15th we must be really really
close lol......but i still havent had any
symptokms..and honestly im getting
impatient!!!!!!!!!

well my due date is 9/7/07 and i have no
idea if i have lost my mucus plug or not
and my braxton hick's contractions are
really bad and i wonder if i am going into
labor sometimes or not...the only time i
know i am not is when they stop for like
hours i was just wondering what your mucus
plug looks like this is my first pregnancy
and some people said that it looks like a
jelly discharge but i have had that
throughout my pregnancy (sorry if this is
TMI)

oh dont worry about that...well the video
i watched about birth and stuff she said
its like and inch wide or something you
cant miss it..but i think everyone might
be different....because some ppl miss it
and some ppl dont...my braxton hicks are
starting to get stronger and more
frequent..anyways some ppl wont lose
theyre mucus plug until right before they
went into labor so dont stress.....just
when your contractions are around 5
minutes apart or your water breaks make
sure to call your doctor!!! =)

i hope losing it means you are closer! i
started losing mine, it was different than
regular discharge, it was a clear kind of
gel like and more stringy... but it didn't
all come out at once. mine had no blood in
it either until after my Dr appt
yesterday. i hope our babies are on the
way!
