When it comes to the father's name on the
birth certificate what is the procedure?
If the father is not available or choose
not to be part of you and your baby's life
can you still put his name down on the
birth certificate but give your baby your
last name? How is this done in New York?

This depends on the state you live in.
Generally you cannot put a man's name on
the birth certificate if he is not there.
