Back Pain

hey, ive had back pain since early June 07. im only 16 and it irritates me that i cant do a lot of stuff for a long period of time. i took a weight lifting class for school and thought that it might have been why i had the back pain but summers almost over and i havent worked out with weights and i still have back pain. it started to get better where it was pretty much nothing at all about 2 1/2 months after it started in june then i went to the chiropractor and he did the usual thing where he popped my back into place. but after that it got back to almost as painful as when it started. schools about to start again and when i had back pain during school it was painful sittin in the chairs there so i really dont wanna go through that again.

Backs / spines are weird things, they are the carriers of nerves which sends messages from our bodies to our brain .. our central nervous system...

Is your pain in your lower back? You could have caused inflammation in the muscles surrounding the are, causing this pain, if not treated, the pain will remain. Are you taking anti-inflammatory pills to reduce this swelling ? Have you been and seen a doctor for it?

You mention that you did weight lifting before summer break, I'm not judging you in any way, but could you have over-did these weights, lift more than you should, straining whilst you lifted. Wink

As you haven't lifted during the break has helped, however, you gotta keep up light exercise, to stop your back seizing up. It is hard to keep active when you are in so much pain, but keep the movement going.
Even if it is 'floor exercises'. Confused Wink

You need to strenghten the surrounding muscles also, to protect your back, before you take up weight lifting sports.

Hi my names acctually Ryan and Franks is my last name but its all good. But yeah it started out with my whole back and for a little while my neck but my first visit to the chiropractor took care of that.

But no i havent taken any pills for my back i usually just went to the chiropractor expecting it to go away like always. And yeah ive seen the same chiropractor since i was little. I also went up to see my aunt this summer and she just became a doctor and she worked on my back in a different way then my chiropractor and it didnt help all that much but the last time i saw the chiropractor my back started to get better but after he got done popping my back into place it got back to hurting quite a bit. it doesnt make sense to me why it doesnt stay in place any more

in terms of the over doing weights i probably didnt cause im a very saftey concious person and i also dont remember ever doing anything that involved my back. i never did the squats mainly jus bench press and arm curls.

and yeah ive done a few scissor kicks to work on my abs and some push ups and pull ups. and i also did use bench press when my back started to get better but after the chiropractor i dont even want to try.

yeah i had the same exact thing, you should get an xray of your back. thats what i did and found out that my lower back isnt as stable as it should be so now my chiropractor is doing things differently that are acctually working.

my pain is going down both of my upper thighs... its not really painful but its bugging me to pieces and sometimes its hard to sleep

maybe i need new x-rays, just don't know yet

Any radiating pain could be a sign of nerve damage. Back pain should always be diagnosed and treated by a specialist. Proper diagnostics should include an x-ray examination and an MRT if needed.
