Infant Or Infant-toddler

Which car seat have you girls gotten/plan
to get/used? The infant ones or the
infant to toddler ones...The infant to
toddler ones look too big to me, I don't
know if i'd feel safe putting her in one
that big even tho she'd still be strapped
in and all...But then again I wouldnt have
to worry about getting another car seat
for when she outgrows the infant
one...Hmm..Any suggestions?

Car seats arent that expensive. I used a
infant car seat until sean didnt fit in
them anymore just last month. Now he is
in an toddler car seat, but it could be an
infant car seat aswell.. I really like
either. But I would have done nothing
different. I felt better with the infant
one when he was younger. But I will tell
you this, I dont like the new toddler car
seats that dont have the front brace.
They freak me out. I made it a point that
sean got one with them. He got his car
seat for free though....

I got josh and infant seat. It makes me
feel better because it is more
apporpriately sized.....And plus....It cam
as part of a travel system, and the base
stays in the car, so you can easily take
the seat anywhere with you out of the car
and not have to wake the baby up trying to
get her out of it. The stroller, car seat
and base is only like 135 bucks at
wal*mart.....But you may not want the same
one. I would definately reccomend a
travel system, they save money and infant
seats just seem to be a better choice for
infants ya know???

I would recommend getting two car seats
though. I too got a travel system set.
But I still found it easier to have two
car seats. The baby will get heavy!! I
kept on car seat in larrys car and one in
my grams car. That way either way I
always had a car seat. I would end up
bring one in but one would always be in
someones car. It is just easier. And ohh
remember this. I walked down to my
grandmas work one day. And I took the
stroller and forgot the car seat because I
didnt think about the fact that we were
going to be driving back home, so I ended
up walking another mile back home.. So
once again it is easier and smarter to
have two car seats!!

Yeah I think i'll feel better with the
infant car seat...Chrissy, I was thinking
about getting a travel system instead of
buying each indiviudally and ontop of that
having them all match! Lol what a pain in
the butt that'd be...And me and my mom
both think getting 2 car seats will be a
lot easier to work with than just
one...Switching from my car to tom's will
be too much of a hassle....And also, do
you guys think there's any places *not* to
look for travel systems, car seats, the
whole nine yards...Like target and those
places...Are they all pretty much the
same? I want to get the safest and most
reliable for her, but dont want to break
the bank in the process ya kno?

Well with the one I have, you don't
necessarily have to use the base in a car,
you can strap it in like a regular car
seat but the base it just snaps in and out
of for more convenience. I think walmart
and target are just fine when it comes to
baby items. I would suggest getting one
of those articles with all the features to
look for if you are too worried. Just
make sure that it has everything you want
in it. Good luck!

The infant carrier carseat is what your
going to want. I say this because it is
too much to have to take baby out of a car
seat every time you get out of the car.
It is much easier to take the whole
carseat off the base and take that in the
store or wherever with you. Alot of
stores don't have infant seats connected
to their carts. And some are very old
and ripped. I just didn't like the germ
factor. You would end up being stuck
carrying your baby while you shop. It is
also nice to have one for when you go out
to eat and such. You just flip the
wooden high chair over and the infant
carry car seat fits right on the bottom of
the high chair! Otherwise, again..Where
are you going to put baby while you eat?
(given it is before they can sit up on
their own) I just recently switched
jayden to an infant-toddler car seat, she
just go too heavy for me to carry. I
have found that I feel she is more safe in
the infant-toddler seat. It straps in
the car much tighter than the infant ones.
Even with the infant base, it just
wouldn't strap in real tight and you could
lift up the back part of the base or seat
right off of the seat of your car. Her
new car seat is solid as a rock, it
dosen't move. I personally question how
safe infant car seats are, but like I
said...It is just so convinient.
***keep in mind girls if you are using a
used car seat, be sure it was never in an
accident. Check all the buckles, etc and
make sure they are in good wearing
condition. Also check for recalls!***

As for the store checking. I bought my
car seats and stuff at babies r us.. Just
because I figured they would be safer. I
dont suggest buying bottles and such at
the dollar store because sometimes they
are damaged that is why they are there.
Kmart is a good idea..

the Best Store!!!!

Omg I found the best store for baby items
this past weekend. Steve's mom and I
went shopping to look for a double
stroller for her. Well we ended stopping
at "baby depot" it is inside burlington
coat factory. Omfg they have everything
you can possibly think of for babies.
They have soooo many display models of car
seats and strollers. And they are
actually down by the floor so you can get
a good look at them. Wal mart always has
their strollers and car seats up so high
its hard to get a good look at them and
such. This store had everything. Alot
of it you wouldn't even think of!!!!!!!
It is over an hour away from me, but its
def. Worth the drive and I will be taking
many trips back!

Yea they do have some cute stuff...And
lots of displays...But last I heard about
both baby depot and burlington was that
there return policy sucked...Basically
once u buy it there's no returning it!
And that doesnt work well with me at all
lol unless its a great deal, I usually go
back and forth with my decisions

Ahh I didn't know that!!! I am glad you
mentioned that! I am going to have to
keep that in mind when shopping there.
Yeah with big purchase items like
stroller, crib, high chair. I need to be
able to return it, I can never make up my
mind or I always find something wrong with
it!

Yeah sara my mom and I go shopping there
all the time.....Always right after my
doctors appointments because there is one
right there by my doctor. I don't buy
really big things though. I bought stuff
like bottles and pacifiers, breast milk
storage bags, that pacifier medicine
dispenser, and safety stuff like cabinet
locks and those things that go over your
power strips. Oh and a really cute
stuffed duck that we named uncle quacker!
Lol....Sorry but yeah I love that store!!!
But some of it is expensive....Like
boppys....35 bucks for a velour one! Why
would you buy velour for a baby? Everyone
knows how easily its ruined! I am gonna
go to target and get one for like 20
bucks! Anyways I cant even remember the
point of writing this.....Sorry im just
passing the time.....
