Q: Do You Go With Science Or Your Body?

I had consensual sex on July 13 and 14. I was forced on July 28th to have sex with someone else. I know for a fact that my period ended July 12 so that means that I started about July 6 or 7th. According to ultrasound my due date is April 23. Counting 40 weeks back from then is July 18. Nowhere near the "bad one". But according to ultrasound I concieved around July 28th or so... And according to the wheel thingy that the doctors use the first day of my last period was July 15th which I know for a fact is wrong... I was told that it is possible that with all the stress that I have been under that it kind of "stunted" the growth of the baby and that is why they say for pregnant women not to be under stress, because it can be harmful... Could strss be a result of the ultrasound not being accurate? Are they 100% accurate so early on in a pregnanxy? So do I go based with science or according to my body? Please help. Confused

You would actually only count 38 weeks back from your due date. When you go with a 40 week plan the first two weeks are before ovulation or conception occurs. Ovulationg occurs at the beginning of the third week. I don't think I'm making a lot of sense but you're doctor is right. The growth of your baby wouldn't have been stunted like that. They are all just about the same size in the beginning.

Did everyone notice that she said she was "forced" to have sex???

I think instead of worrying about dates, you need to deal with that issue first.

First I would like to say congratulations on the pregnancy!

Second, I would like to say how sorry I am that you had to go though such a horrible experience, only to cause you this much stress in a time that should be filled with so many other stresses.

Ok, was the incident reported? If so, in cases like this, the state may pay for an early paternity tests. There are risks involved. Only you know how you would feel and handle the results. I also think that counseling might be something to look into.

Are your doctors aware of the situation? If so, what is there opinion?

We are here for you if you need to talk about anything. It doesn't have to be pregnancy related, even though in this case it is. PM me if you want to talk.

I'm sorry guys! My brain just hasn't been here lately. That really does need to be addressed first.

I am very sorry to everyone, I do not quite know how to use this still. I am trying to teach myself. No, unfortunately I did not report the incident. If I do then the "bad one" will know that it is a possibility that he fathered a child... As far as I am concerned he took the right to know he "possibly" fathered a child away when he stole what he took from me... I know it isn't the right thing to do, but I do not want him anywhere in my life. I am talking to my doctor about what happened so that I can handle it as best as possible. My only thing was trying to figure out these dates... I have been told that if someone is under a lot of stress and depression that it can make the embryo smaller in the ultrasounds so then it would apprear that you are not as far along as you actually are... I have also read that you cannot hear a hearbeat until after day 42... If that is the case, then it would have to be the "good one" because I had an ultrasound about 30 days after conception would have occured... Thanks to all who congratulated me. I would be extatic if it is the good one... Still getting used to the fact that it may be the "bad ones"... I hope that I am doing this right in replying...
