United States Of America was founded on
the beliefs of God, that is why it is on
some legal papers and that is why is it
unlawful for a man and man to marry and a
woman and woman.. We are a Christian
nation.. Laws are trying to over ride
this, just like all laws, and most of them
for the people that do not believe in our
nation being under GOD! They try and
remove it more and more all the time..
To suit their ways of life.
For example:
Abortion,
Gay Marriages,
In God we Trust removed from the currency
The ten commands removed from state
buildings,
Pray in school.
Do we still tell the truth the whole truth
on a bible in court?? I’m sure some one
will want that removed too.
Our Nation being founded under God lives
by the bible. When it comes to homosexual
the bible says it is wrong! Marriage is
between a man and a women..
Does it effect me personally if your son
or daughter or You are Gay and get
married? No! but by the laws of the God
nation it is wrong . And with me, it is
wrong with GOD!
I often wonder if so many people dislike
the God given Nation we have always been.
Why not leave instead of changing the
nation to fit them!

There's a little thing called Separation
of Church and State. Religion and
government are supposed to be kept separate
and independent of one another.
There are many, many people living in this
country who are not Christian. And I'm not
just speaking about athiests/agnostics.
Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, Islamics, etc.
Why do they deserve to have Christian
ideals slapped into their face wherever
they roam? Because they're in America?
Need I remind you that this nation was
founded because of religious persecution?
What people dislike is not the nation.
People dislike others pushing their ideas
onto them. You believe homosexuality is
wrong because of your religion, and
therefore you're trying to repress another
person's civil rights. You see nothing
wrong with the Commandments being on state
buildings, and don't care if others are
offended by them. You think people should
just get out of they don't like it,
instead of trying to let people believe
what they want to believe and not have all
this crap pushed on them.

As I stated.. USA was fonded as a God
Believing Nation.. It changed!! Through
out time!!

Is that your only response? You have
nothing to say about a Muslim being
offended by Christian words on the
currency? Or about civil rights being
repressed because of religion?

I am talking about the begining of our
Nation.. Not what has changed over the
years. I am talking about why the word God
on on some legal documents. Not about what
has changed over the years.. I am not
talking about all the changes that have
taken place over time.. I am talking about
how or nation was form as One NAtion under
God. before division started.. And
division will continue on and one as long
as the Earth is here.. I'm not talking
about after fact.

So because the people who left England and
established the colonies were also
Christian, you believe that America should
remain Christian? And ignore the fact that
many many
many laws went into effect after
that? Do you believe slavery should also
still be legal, since that's what they had
back in the good ol' days?
America is not solely a Christian nation.
Many American citizens are not Christian.
Are you suggesting that they should just
"get over it" because the guys who planted
the flag were Christians?

The founding fathers, for your
information, were DEISTS, not catholics or
even protestants. That means they believed
every religion had the potential to be
right, and that everyone had the right to
worship whatever they wanted.

don't like acknowledging that.

FYI, one Nation UNDER GOD was changed to
include that little phrase AFTER the
pledge of allegiance was written. Even
when I was in Elementary school I didn't
say that part. In Girls Scouts I never
said "to serve god" either during the girl
scout pledge.

Yep, all of that is very very recent.
Doesn't make it any less offensive.

Yep! Truth is often stranger than
fiction.
Before someone goes and does a search:
No, not ALL of them were deists, but a
good many were.

America was supposed to be the nation
where anyone could come and be themselves,
believe what they wanted to believe, look
how they wanted to look, etc.
Everyone fits in here! Except the people
who don't believe in freedom... and I mean
freedom of thought, religion,
spirituality, etc. THAT's what this nation
was built on.

But wouldn't you agree, little by little
things are being over ruled? And I don't
just mean things you or I agree on, I mean
even thing you don't. It's almost like who
ever yells the hardest it get a bill
pasted.. And before long all laws are
changed.. Try to think of something you
really didn't believe was right
For instance I always felt if you went to
prison, you should not have access to T.V
You should be able to read and that's
about it.. But now people in prison can
work out Watch TV. And I don't know what
else. We’ve come a long way, but is it
for the good?

I agree. Little by little the things that
this country was meant to be have been
whittled away so slowly and quietly, we
barely notice. Before we know it, the
rights awarded to us are going to be
stripped away. It is not however, the
people who yell the loudest that get laws
changed. Sadly, it's the lobbyist with
the biggest chunk of gold. Money is what
turns the great wheels of our democracy.
Separation of Church and state is being
blurred.
insurance companies are making millions.
White collar criminals are being handed
white collar sentences.
Governments are allowed to hold people in
jails with no reason, and no recourse
And the public is soooo fixated n Britney
Spears and OJ simpson, they have no idea
what is really going on.
It is a very frightening place to live.

An American History class I took for one.
I've also done some web searching for you.
The following is a fascinating site that I
actually like. Yes, it is a Christian man
talking about how the founding fathers
were Deists and the like, but he also
interjects his own comments. I enjoyed
skimming it.
The early
presidents and patriots were generally
Deists or Unitarians, believing in some
form of impersonal Providence but
rejecting the divinity of Jesus and the
absurdities of the Old and New
testaments.
It was the first result on Google for
"deist founding fathers".
Same site, different section.
Quote:
tr>
Patrick Henry,
made a number of statements suggesting
that our nation was founded on belief in
God, and that it was important to
acknowledge God in civic affairs, but
Henry lost the battle to put religion in
the Constitution. More to the point, Henry
was an anti-federalist, and vigorously
opposed the Constitution when Virginia
discussed ratification. Quoting Henry to
prove things about the constitution is
like quoting the chairman of the
Republican National Committee to prove
things about the platform of the
Democratic
party.

A hilarious old man named Doctor Peterson,
at The State University of New York in
Oswego. I think he's still teaching, but
he may have retired last year. The
school's website is so bad I bet he's
still on the Professor's list though.

I think you should be careful giving out
personal info on the internet. Remember

Yick.
