well well well.. it seems there is a
discord amongst religiouses on this
subject. Yes individuals can committ
crimes but you know what else? It leads to
astounding acts of compassion and mercy
too.
Individual rights do not hamper each other
as long as everyone respects their rights.
No I am no fan of the church nor any
organized religion because it expects
people to become sheep and allow
themselves to be herded around like a
sheep.
Yes once the church held supreme power and
horrible acts of cruelty, homicide, rape
and robbery were condoned!
Innocent people were mutilated and killed;
family torn apart; children abused and
tortured. The average person could hardly
eat yet fat bishops sat in castles covered
in warm velvets.. tell me again how this
was beneficial? Why individual rights are
bad?
THe church fears anyone with an ability to
think for themselves.
FYI Sheep are Sheep; People are not sheep.

marry, won't they then try and get
insurance and benefits as a straight
couple and possible take benefits from
that could go to more straight couples or
children? I’m thinking lack of benefits

Meblonde- I don't really think there's
much weight to that argument- gay people
can get insurance regardless of marriage-
my hubby and I are on different insurance.
So they wouldn't really be taking
insurance/benefits away from anyone,
they'd just be reorganizing, know what I
mean?
And I'm sure you agree that everyone
deserves insurance, and especially that
even the children of gay couples deserve
to have the health benefits that any other
family would deserve. After all, the
children didn't choose their parents.
I don't think homosexuality would affect
us in any way. Personally, I wouldn't mind
if it did, but I really don't think it
could.

Benefits like what!? You do realise that
married couples PAY more taxes than
singles do? Gay marriage would greatly
benefit this nation economically.

to the significant other should one die,
stuff like that.... is that so bad? No...
What benefits did I get when I got
married, hmm.... well, I got his credit
score to influence mine, that was nice,
all I can think of is that I get rights
should he die. But nothing really
pertinent now. And their children would
definitely benefit-- but that can only be
considered a good thing. They would have
two legal parents.

as now but you know what the difference
