did any of you ladies have some brownish discharge in the 8th or 9th weeks? I've had some light spotting of light brown. Is this normal, or is it something I need to worry about?

Brown discharge is old blood, and nothing to worry about. It's possible that your cervix was irritated during sex and bled a little, and you're just now seeing it. If you ever get bright red blood, call your doctor immediately. But brown blood? Not to worry. Wink

Thanks, I'm glad someone answered.

I did alot of reading online, and alot of postings on other sites scared me to death, but I went to alot of doctor sites that said it was normal and not to worry unless it turns pink or red, or gets really heavy. It also said that cramping was bad, but I don't have any cramping or pain at all.

I went to the doctor about 3 weeks ago and he said that the baby had a strong heartbeat and he thought I'd be just fine. He told me to expect some discharge, but he didn't say a color at all.

I saw that alot of site also said that at week 9, the baby is mostly developed and has a strong heart and that miscarriage chance is greatly reduced by this week. Let's hope so.

I had brown discharge around that time with this pregnancy.

My Dr just told me that my body was still in "non pregnant" mode and it assumed it was time for my period.

Like Laura said, it's basically old blood.

Thanks, Sarah, it's good to be reassured. It's pretty much stopped, so I'm very glad about that. Smile
