Colposcopy & Birth Control

I recently had a colposcopy a little over a week ago. I've had relatively normal recovery(spotting, black discharge from the solutions used from the biopsy). I've also been taking my birth control normally. I'm now on my placebo week, and just started on the first day of my placebo week. Normally I would expect my period to start on the 3rd day after I started the placebo week. However, it seems that I have started my cycle only after the first day. I'm not sure if this is really my cycle or some more bleeding from the colposcopy (I had two biopsies taken on the day of the procedure). For the last week of recovering from the colposcopy I've been spotting everyday, then it stopped for 1 day(approximately 1 week after the procedure), and today I'm bleeding a lot more heavily. Should I be concerned that I may be hemmoraging from biopsy areas not healing completely or is this the beginning of my menstrual cycle?
