I will be 40 weeks on Friday. I was just wondering if there are really any signs that you will be going into labor soon? Like.....can you just be feeling fine and all of the sudden your water breaks? Or you start having contractions? This is my first pregnancy and have no clue if Ill feel different b4 the real thing happens. Hope to get some response. Smile

I never had my water break ~ but my friend had hers break and she didn't know what it was at first. She thought she may have peed herself.

You may start having contractions. You may start having back pain and not feel comfortable (that was how I felt). I couldn't find a position I felt I could sit or stand in. Then I started noticing, the pains were coming kind of rhythmically. Not always at the same time, but in a kind of pattern. I didn't know it was 'labor' though, not at first.

First pregnancies usually have a long delivery time so you'll have plenty of time to figure out if it is labor or not.
