Heavy periods, pain during sex, pain in the pelvic area ....
Posted: 09-13-07 19:40pm

alot of wierd stuff so i will just start from the beginning.

i started my perios when i was 12 and ive always had a heavy flow. Lately is has been just horrible though. probably about the past 5 years but getting worse and worse. I have to double up using super plus (the huge ones) tampson AND pads when i actually do have a period. I have really irregular periods though i usually only have one every couple months.
when me and my husband have sex its AWEFULL it hurts very bad and sometimes i even start spotting after weve tried ( i can hardly ever go al the way through with it).
Some symptoms that are really starting to worry me though are constant pain in the pelvic area and and i always feel totally bloated. The thing that really scared me is that ive started having some problems with my bladder. I sometimes have a horrible time starting to go and ive had a couple instances where i have gone basically involuntarily. My discharge seems to always have kind of a pinkish tint to it and i spot all the time in between periods.
Ive told my doctor about all my symptoms and my family history ( my sister was diagnosed with OVCA and died a couple years ago at the age of 26 and my neice (her daughter) died of leukemia at age 8 both my grandmothers also had OVCA) i told my doctor also that my mother and my sister both have ENDO and he without even having to do any sorts of expensive test told me it might be ENDO and he put me on a BC pill called YAZ. he said if it is endo that he will definately know because this almost always works with symptoms of endometriosis. i am supposed to go back and see him in October because if my symptoms dont improve he wants to do an emergency Laproscopy.
ive been on YAZ since july and my symptoms were still there but i didnt have a period which is what is supposed to happen. i was still spotting alot and the pain in my lower back seemed to get worse. and it still really hurts during sex (IE we tried to have sex sunday night but it didnt work out)
well last week i started getting the pains back in my pelvic area and this morning i started my period which is not supposed to happen because of the way he has me taking my BC pills. i got up from bed and i started to feel real dizzy. but i shook it off as just being tired i ate breakfast and went to work. and i started having really bad cramps which i associated with the bleeding and i could hardly stand up because i started feeling really weak and i started to get the shakes. i went in the back at work to do returns so i could sit down and i blacked out for i think 5 minutes....when i came to i tried to stand up and my knees felt like they were going to give out so i went to my desk and tried to call a manager to see if i could go home but of course no one came down so i had to stumble through the store and go upstairs they finally let me go home after about an hour. i got home and took some midol which hasnt helped any it never does. my cramps by this time were so unbearable. i sat one my moms couch and i just remember looking at the clock and it was 1:25 and i guess i passed out cause when i opened my eyes it was 2:30 so i went to my bed to lay down.
i know this is not cancer but im scared this could be serious its happened a couple times before.
every time i go to the doctor they think i am imagining everything because i was molested when i was a little girl. the doctor mentioned above is the only one who actually though this was serious but i have just moved and he is about 4 hours away. I have no money to go to the doctor and i am scared because i cant pay for a doctors visit and if it is something serious i might not be able to know til its too late. i live in the DFW area in texas so ther are plenty of hospitals but if i go to the ER they will probably just refer me to a GYN which i will not have the money to pay for. i know i havent mentioned everything but i figure these details might get me some help if someone else has experienced them.
oh and my blood sugar was normal this morning when all of that happened. i am still feeling very weak and faint right now. should i go to the ER or just wait and see if anything changes

Hi!
Sorry for delayed post! I hope you'll feeling much better now!
What you did about your condition? Did you visit ER?
Are you bleeding still? Do you feel weak?
I agree with your doctor that you may have endometriosis. You have all predispositions(began getting period at an early age, heavy and irregular periods and close relatives with endo) and many symptoms that lead to that diagnosis(very painful menstrual cramps that gets worse over time, lower back pain, abdominal pain and bloating, pain during and after sex, fatigue, heavy and irregular periods, spotting between periods, problems with urination)
In this condition, there are growths of endometrium(lining of uterus) outside of the uterus in other areas(under or on the ovaries, behind and around the uterus, bladder, bowels and even lungs)that are responding to monthly hormone changes with building up extra tissue and blood, but there is no place for the tissue and blood to exit. They can cause inflammation, scars and infertility. For this reason, growths tend to get bigger and the symptoms of endometriosis often get worse over time. This is leading to a gradual decline in a womens general health, as well as the health of her reproductive system.
The BC pills your doctor gave it, are suppose to make endo less painful and your period less uncomfortable and lighter. This therapy usually helps in women with small growths of endometrium who don't have bad pain, by blocking the effects of natural hormones on endometrial growth.
I'll suggest you to visit your doctor in October and if you don't feel improvement from the BC therapy, is best for you to have laparoscopy done. This procedure is diagnostic and used as a treatment at the same time. If he find some growths he can take pieces for microscopical diagnosis and he can remove the growths and scar tissue.
Surgery(one type is laparoscopy) is usually the best choice for women with endometriosis who have a severe amount of growths, a great deal of pain, or fertility problems.
You need to treat this because is interfering with your life.
Please, don't miss your appointment in October. Finding out that you have endometriosis is the first step in taking back your life.
Best wishes!
Marija
