When did you girls start packing your hospital bag? I'll be 30 weeks on Wednesday, and I was thinking maybe I should start packing it within the next month. Smile

tell them you wrote a twenty page paper and you worked really hard and slayed on it for days and days and it was the best paper ever. and on your way to school a huge tornado swept over you and you tried to hold onto the paper but you couldnt and the pages flew away in the tornado...and the whole time you were screaming "noooo! i worked so hard on this twenty page report and i would have gotten an A plus for sure!!!"

Things are going pretty good. I finally found a crib and changing table that I love and a Classic Pooh bedset. Now I just have to get the money for them. LOL. And my birthday is on the 7th...21 yay. Smile lol. Other than that, my manager is still a person and can't seem to schedule me right. And I feel soo much more better since I've been taking iron supplements. I feel like I have a lot more energy now. Very

Ah I'd die with that heat. Especially being pregnant, that has got to stink. I looked at my schedule for next week, and they have me scheduled twice for 6 hr shifts. I feel like I'm complaining too much about an hour difference, but it puts a lot of strain on me this far into the game. Good thing I have 10 weeks left. Smile

if your hospital is anything like mine... you really don't need to worry about it lol... they gave me a diaperbag already filled with premade sterile bottles, diapers, wipes, changing pad two changes of clothes for the baby and two hats... plus they gave me a change of clothes and socks to go home in for myself... the only thing i really needed to bring was the camera, and if i had forgotten that i could have made my fiance' go get on out of the camera vending machine down the hall... hope your hospital is like mine, they rock!...

but i did have a bag all packed up and ready waiting in the car at about 35 weeks and then went into labor at about 38 weeks... so good luck to you and hope you don't go into labor before you pack up!!

A lot of hospitals charge for those things. Some insurances won't pay for them and those diaper bags don't come cheap!

I'm glad you had a great hospital experience!

As far as the hospital bag... you don't need much of anything in it. Take what you would take for yourself if you were spending the night somewhere. Which is essentially what you are doing. And if you pack it too early, you won't be able to wear/use the things you pack for weeks. You can't pack your toiletries until the end. It is a good idea to have your baby bag packed though because you won't need those things until the baby is here anyway.

i could be way off b/c i've never had kids..
but instead of waiting til the end to pack your toiletries(sp)
you could just buy the travel size...so you wont have to worry about
having to grab tooth paste and a toothbrush while you're having
contractions...

Most early labors last a long time. And you have 15 minutes and more between contractions - in 15 minutes you can get your toothbrush packed as well as an outfit and some socks and a nightgown. Seldom does birthing a baby happen as fast as it does in the movies. Like your water won't break and you'll have to make a mad dash to the hospital at 80 miles an hour. Smile Although that would be nice!

There is usually plenty of time to get a bag packed and, really, you aren't doing anything much anyway. It is all a waiting game. But a lot of people like to be prepared.

well, i know, personally
i wouldn't want to have to worry about that
i'd probably be a nervous wreck and not be able to think straight
that's the only reason i said that...
