i could be way off b/c i've
never had kids..
but instead of waiting til the end to pack
your toiletries(sp)
you could just buy the travel size...so
you wont have to worry about
having to grab tooth paste and a
toothbrush while you're having
contractions...
Most early labors last a long time. And
you have 15 minutes and more between
contractions - in 15 minutes you can get
your toothbrush packed as well as an
outfit and some socks and a nightgown.
Seldom does birthing a baby happen as fast
as it does in the movies. Like your water
won't break and you'll have to make a mad
dash to the hospital at 80 miles an hour.
Although that would
be nice!
There is usually plenty of time to get a
bag packed and, really, you aren't doing
anything much anyway. It is all a waiting
game. But a lot of people like to be
prepared.
i'm glad i didn't wait until i was in
labor to pack. i got sent straight to the
hospital from my last NST and nick was
able to run home that afternoon and grab
my bag. i shudder to think what he would
have brought me had i not packed my bag in
advance.

Me too! I was sent to the hospital while
setting up a pediatrician. Pre-eclampsia.
I had my bag packed the night before
because I had a feeling. Good thing. I was
only at 36 weeks.
Had my bag not been packed, Anthony
probably would have just brought an outfit
for the baby and some panties for me
It was hard enough trying to snag some
conditioner for my hair! I have a natural
rats nest.
Forgot conditioner.....

Well if you're anything like me, you'll
re-pack your bag at least four times
before you finally go into labor. Heck,
I think I repacked it a couple of times
the day before I was induced.

LOL It seems in my family, that my aunts
and mom have had those mad dash labors
even for their first. According to my mom,
with my oldest brother she made it
upstairs and couldn't go back down before
she was in so much pain. She said that by
the time she got to the hospital, they had
to wait for the doctor to get there for
her to push because his head was already
crowning. Who knows. I think I might pack
mine in mid October.

Well I sincerely hope you do not have a
long drawn out early labor - because a
very lot of women are sent BACK HOME to
labor because they aren't dilated/effaced
enough or the contractions are soon
enough.
Being 16 though, they may keep you just
because.
