hi
about a month ago my doctor put me on a
new bp medication called tekturna it was
recently approved by the fda and it's
suppose to some good stuff.the first night
i took it it sent me into tach and my wife
rushed me to the hospital and they found
nothing wrong.they told me it wasn't a
side effect of the medication so i
continued to take it for 25 more days. the
more i took it the more severe and
frequent the tachycardia became. the
doctor finally took me off of it an it's
been almost 3 weeks. i'm still getting
the palpitations and tachycardia but
nothing like before there very mild and
settle except for today. the doctor change
my Bp meds to zestril how long does
medication stays in your system because
i'm still have the attacks but nothing
like they were a lot milder an more
controlling they usually last about 3mins
had one today that was about 15mins but
started working out again

Tekturna Posted: 11-05-07 07:02am
Thank you so much for sharing this! My
doctor just put me on Tekturna. I am
having fainting spells, and I feel awful.
I have tried several other blood pressure
medications and had side effects that
caused me to quit them. Tekturna was just
approved in March 2007. Also, it is very
expensive. There is no way I am going to
continue with this medication. It seems to
me, controlling blood pressure, especially
as I get older, is the most frustrating
health problem I ever had. If we can
believe the medical establishment, it is
either reduce the quality of our days or
die of stroke. Some of you have found an
alternative. I will keep looking for it.

All bp meds have side effects, some really
bad. That Tekturna sounds really bad. I
quit taking all bp meds a few months ago.
I had been taking Metoprolol for a year or
so and I developed diabetes like symptoms
from it, plus had really ugly red leg
rashes on both legs, and they didn't go
away until i quit taking the meds!
I don't care what doctors say that we all
have to take meds, no we don't.
I started taking Raw organic Apple cider
vinegar (ACV) around April of this year. I
take it 2-3 times a day, with stevia and
water, and it helps lower bp naturally. It
helps thin the blood according to a
doctor, it's similar to what an aspirin a
day will do. Although ACV is better. No
stomach bleeding like with the aspirin.
I saw a book on Amazon recently that is
called "Prescription Alternatives.
Hundreds of Safe, Natural,
Prescription-Free Remedies to Restore and
Maintain your health." by Earl Mindell.
For every ailment someone has, it has a
list of what to do, and the alternatives
to all the pills, plus certain vitamins to
take, etc. You can read excerpts at the
site.
I went and bought it and am now
implementing many of the things in it. I
have a long way to go, after having been
on bp meds for the last 7 years.
As far as believing the medical
establishment, a better bet would be to do
alot of research like i did relating to bp
and general health. Putting all your faith
in a doctor will only result in you taking
endless amounts of precriptions and never
really getting well. Because all pills do
is mask the symptoms and they never cure
you. Once you quit taking them, you still
have the problem. So that's not good. Plus
you end up having lots of side effects,
which makes you feel worse.
