Extremely Stressful Time, feel angry, confussed, depressed Posted: 09-18-07 16:15pm
Question: i thought i could narrow down my
problem as best i could. i have always
been a GREAT reader and comprehender, i
have scored advanced in a reading test at
my high school(i am a junior) but about
five months ago i randomly began
over-thinking/doubting my reading ability,
FOR NO APPARENT REASON, i then loose my
ability to concentrate on the reading and
grasping the meaning of the book/paper.
Doing this causes me to feel angry,
confussed, depressed, frustrated, worried,
and other negative feelings. it's like a
voice in my head is forcing me to do
this...i have tried everything to stop,
but im slowly giving up, cuz nothing is
delivering me from this chaos. i have no
history of mental/health problems either.
it has been very hard and it is draining
me physically and mentally. So what does
this sound like to you? any help would be
awesome/extremely helpfull....

I am no physcian. And even if I did think
I knew what this was, which I have a
couple things I think it could be, I am
not allowed to diagnos. Just help if
needed to guide you in the right
direction.
This might just be something differnet you
are dealing with. IMHO from what I have
read of you post. If it were me, I would
seek counseling ASAP.
You may need to be on a different kind of
drug if you are already on any.
I would say, please don't wait on this
one. Go get this checked out.

this sounds very familiar.
the thing with not being able to
concentrate has happened to me quite a few
times.
very often, when i am at work and find
myself unable to concentrate - i simply
dont. i go for a walk and connect with
nature.
often this happens when something is
bothering me, and i cannot understand what
it is. once i examine my life, or this
feeling, it often sheds light onto the
nature of my dis-ease.
how is your breathing during these
moments?

Yes, it is really frustrating when your
strongest abilities seem to fail. I used
to be relatively good at every subject and
very well rounded, recently, luck has been
bad and my grades are dropping. It seems
like you lost your "passion/edge" in
reading and you're becoming more
discouraged as a result. Try to
rediscover your "edge". That's my 2
cents!
