My grandmother has been in the hospital
for about 3 weeks now after 2 failed
discharge attempts. She suffered from a
MI causing CHF with a pulmonary edema and
respiratory failure. They got everything
sorted out and sent her home after 2
weeks. However, that night, her blood
pressure skyrocketed and she has trouble
breathing and thus we called an ambulance.
She was then put on vancomyocin because
the doctors said that she had pneumonia
and the hospital had sent her home with
it. Again, after a week on the
ventilator, the doctors agreed that she
was ready to go home. The day of the
discharge, her bp rose again and she
suffered from respiratory failure so now
she is in the CCU again. The doctors
checked her lungs and heart but they all
say that they are normal. She is still on
antibiotics for the infection but the
infectious disease people are saying that
the infection did not cause the problems.
The doctors have no idea what is going on
and all they do are tests which keep
resulting in negatives.
Does anybody have any idea what is wrong
with her? Any suggestions can help.
