HI, I am 7 weeks pregnant and need to be folowed by a doctor closely because I have had 2 misscarrages within the last 2 years. I switched jobs before i found out i was pregnant and my coverage for insurance does not start for another 3 months. I have been to the emergency room twice already becuase of cramps and they want me to follow up with an obgyn within a week. I have not had any prenatal care yet because I have no insurance. I applied with all the county programs who told me I make too much money, and then I applied with Kaiser, Blue Cross and 5 other Insurane companies who denied me because of my pre-existing condition (pregnancy). I con't lie to them, becuase I already have been to the emergency room and have it on my record. I have no idea where else to go!!! I am willing to pay whatever monthly, up to $400/mo to have regular pre-natal care established. Any suggestions would help!!!!

if you're willing to pay $400 monthly for coverage (did i read that right?), why don't you just pay for your visits out of pocket until your insurance is set up? in the beginning you only go to the doctor monthly, so 3 visits can't be that expensive.

400 a month out of pocket is over doing it I think. Not sure though. My doctor out of pocket cost is 252 per visit. Before I got accepted for medicaid they told me that by week 24 I would have to pay 3,700. Which covered 13 visits and a vaginal delivery. It DID NOT however cover any ultrasounds or blood work. It also would not cover the hospital stay or any drugs given in the hospital. But as I was going without any coverage I didn't have to pay anything at each visit. I could have paid if I wanted or paid all of it in full at the week 24 mark. So you should be able to find a healthcare provider in your area with the same rates.....give or take! Good luck with everything!

OH.....and CONGRATS

Thanks so much to everyone! My emergency trip with ultrasound and bloodwork cost me around 1,230 and if I have to do that, i will go broke. So hopefully, I can find someone that will exept me. I will also try your advice and pay for regular visits that should be a lot cheaper. Thank you all very much !!! Smile

Some planned parenthoods offer prenatal care, you could call around to them for pricing.... probably cheaper than a regular doc.
