What's It Like Being a Teenage Parent, Mother Or Father?

I'm 17 and have a daughter or son on the
way in late Jan. I'm excited and happy but
sometimes it's somewhat stressful. I know
it's much harder on teenage mothers but
it's not always easy for us too. Our lives
are changing in a big way... I used to be
the crazy spontaneous one... ski diving,
street racing, karate, and clubbing but
now I have to give that up, which is
something I'm willing to do for my child
and my girlfriend. I guess it's probably
harder right now since I can't hold our
baby yet, I'm assuming when I do It'll get
a lot better. Right now it's kinda over
whelming. Any kind words and opinions are
appreciated.
What's it like being a teenage parent,
mother or father?

You are right children are worth it. I was
just 18 when my daughter was born. It was
really hard and I wish I didn't miss as
much as I did, but I would never trade her
for anything. I just hope my siblings see
why having sex is not something to mess
with unless you are willing to give
everything up and I mean everything my
life will never be my own again I will
always have my children to think about in
everything I do. Im proud that you make
the choice to be responsible because many
kids take the "easy" way out. Heck alot of
adults do to. Good luck to you and enjoy
the life you gave!

gone back to that tonight and everything
went just fine we're starting to get back
into our normal routine everything just

im not going to lie, it is hard.. money
wise... it all really depends on who you
are and how your baby is on how hard or
easy it may be... im 18 with a 10 month
old (almost 11 month old) baby boy... hes
a really easy going boy which makes things
easy but there are his grumpy day when all
i wanna do is pull my hair out and pass
him off to someone else to watch for abit
so i can relax... its worth it though, i
wouldnt recomend it.. but its worth it...

the best thing you can do is prepare
yourself. are you working?
it is wayyy different to be a father than
a mother especially as a teenager.. but
you need to be there for her and comfort
her and know that your partying days are
done. its hard and stressful and tiring
but worth it

I have a job that pays well for a
teenager, I teach martial arts to kids.
This all seems overwhelming but I'm still
excited.

Being a teen mom is hard,I was seventeen
when I had my son.I wouldn't change a
thing about my life though, except maybe to
move back to where my family is.I'm a teen
mom living over a thousand kms away from
any form of support network.I have my good
days and I certainly have my bad days.I
live with my son's father and I am a stay
at home mom.
I never dreamed that one day I would be
somebody's 'mommy' I never planned on
having kids,it was a miracle pregnancy.I
was on birth control pills and we used
condoms all the time,my baby's a fighter!
lol.
I'd have to say the high points of being a
teen parent would be the smiles, the
kisses, the hugs and the unconditional love
and trust from another human being. But
those are the high points of any parent.
The low points would be the looks that
people give you,and how everyone thinks
that you need their advice just because
you're a young parent.
Right now my bf wants another baby,he says
that he needs a little girl now.But I'm 18
with a child living a far way away from my
family and he works 17-18 hours a day.I'm
not ready for that emotional rollercoaster
again.I am still working on building a
family with the three people that are in
it!
My advice to you is just go with the
flow, show that child as much love and
affection as you can and tell the child
you love him/her everyday as many times as
you can.
Hope everything works out for you!

being a young parent is hard, financially,
emotionally, ect. but i think the only
reason i got through it was because i had
people around me to help. being a mum is
very rewarding and i wouldn't change what
happened
