Aw, what a cute belly! Very Happy Yours is much more obvious than mine, and I'm 28 weeks too...well 28 weeks 4 days now, I count the days too. I am so ready to be through with pregnancy now. The past week, I've really started to feel this pregnancy on my body; I feel like a beached whale trying to get out of bed; I can't imagine what it will be like at 40 weeks, and I'm even pretty small still for this point!

Well, I don't think being small can cause preterm labor as well. My mother is smaller than you were when you got pregnant and she went all the way to 40 weeks with my little brother. I hope you make it to at least 37 or 38 weeks though for the sake of the baby.

My grandmother was 4 feet 2 and weighed 90-something pounds when my father was born. He weighed 13 pounds at birth. And just to give you something to squirm about... there was no such thing as epidural back then Laughing

OOOOhh.... that's MUCH different. I thought it was because you were so small. Good luck with that.

I tried going as long as possible without an epidural. They began inducing me at 9am and I waited until 5pm. That was only because the doctor was threatening a c-section. He said if I got the epidural, it would hurry things along-which it did. She was born 3 1/2 hours later.
If you wait too long, they won't give you one.
I also opted to get a dose of Nubane before I got the epidural. I LOVE LOVE LOVED the Nubane! It was a wonderful relief.

You'll be my hero if you can go through it au-natural!
Good luck Very Happy

i have a bacterial infection that was treated in my first tri when they first caught it at 11 weeks
it hasnt gone away. its a type of bacteria that when i go into labor, they will have to put me on medication so that when kristen comes through the birth canal she doesnt catch it

i took perscribed meds by my OB twice a day for 3 days...and for some reason the infection never cleared up Evil or Very Mad

group b strep? that usually has nothing to do with pre-term labor and many women have it at the time of delivery, it's very common. you'll just get an IV when you go into labor and everything will be fine.

what's all this pre-term labor business?

I had a bacterial infection in the 1st trimester too. I might still have it...but I'm not sure.

My Dr. said that it's mainly due from the pregnancy mixed with the intense heat!

Why doesn't your Dr put you on a antibiotic now as opposed to when you give birth? My Dr said he would put me on them to prevent any problems with labor.

I was given this cream that I had to insert. and it didn't absorb for like 2 weeks!! Sex was a DEF no go for us! lol! blech!

If I still have it I'll ask to be put on ANtibiotics BEFORE i give birth. As I plan on not having any medical intervention with this birth as well. and an IV is DEF medical intervention!! lol!

if i was GBS i'd be too scared not to have the IV. it's very bad for the baby and can cause serious illness or even death.

Can a woman who tests positive take oral antibiotics before delivery? Treating the mother with oral antibiotics during the pregnancy may decrease the amount of GBS for a short time, but it will not eliminate the bacteria completely and will leave the baby unprotected at birth. Also, waiting to treat the baby with antibiotics after birth is often too late to prevent illness.

but like i said before, it's very common and not a big deal as long as you take care of it (i highly recommend the IV).

no no its not strep
ill look it up and see what its called

not sure what the medication was called that i took at first but at 21 weeks she put me on amoxicillin (sp?) thinking that would clear up the infection

nope. its still there.
