I am a 51 year old male triathlete.
Experienced shoulder pain and after 2nd
episode of shoulder being very stiff (i.e.
could barely touch my chin with right
hand), I sought medical assistance.
X-Rays taken and was referred to an
orthopedic surgeon. Ortho indicated that
I had arthiritis of the A/C Joint, 2 bone
spurs on the Acromion, and calcium
deposits. Seems like I am at a Stage II
Impingement Syndrome.
I am / was training for an Ironman event,
but this might sideline me for a while.
What would you do? Try physical therapy
or push for a procedure that will relieve
pain/and increase room in the shoulder to
assist in eliminating the impingement?
Thanks!
