when your parents wont let you be happy?
i've changed my mind
I don't want to be a school teacher
anymore
I wanna do medical transcription
but my parents wont let me quit college
and go to the medical transcription
school..
NO ONE understands
my sister-in-law says that i'll just
change my mind again...
but..
i personally dont think I will
it'll take me 10months to get this
certificate
and then
after i get it
i can work from home and decide what i
want to do with my life
ugh

ugh
why wont they let you? they cant expect
you to do something that you wont be happy
doing? plus 10 months is shorter than 5
yrs and probably less expansive in the
long run too

I'm not against you, I understand that you
want to be happy, but I can understand
where your parents are coming from. I'd
personally be tired of paying for college
and then letting my child change their
mind and paying for it again, I wouldn't
do that, no way. I'd tell them to get a
loan and do it themselves, just me being
honest.
Good luck and I hope you can get things
figured out. I do understand where you're
coming from, but I'm trying to make you
understand where your parents are coming
from, too.

well if they're going ot do it for one..
then they should do it for the other...
IMO
if they are/were tired of paying for
college
they shouldn't have paid for 3 of them..
they shouldn't have just forked over
$9,000 for his credit card bill
i think things are a little uneven

Maybe that is why. I mean, maybe they
learned their lesson?
They are paying for your college now,
right? If it is one of the kinds of
courses I'm thinking of, medical
transcription classes for the certificate
will not transfer to another college.
How expensive is the course? Maybe you
could get a job on the side.

I dunno, like I said, I understand you
wanting to be happy and changing your
mind, but this is coming from a person who
has to pay 35 thousand dollars for her own
college education, so I guess I don't see
where you're coming from a whole lot lol

Things aren't always fair. But, the good
news is, since you don't make very much
and are just starting this new job, you'll
qualify for fanancial aid. I'd talk to a
financial aid consultant at the school you
want to go to and see if they can help
you.

no i wont qualify for financial aid
actually i talked to the guy today
and since i still live with my parents
i have to go from their income...
and Ingi: no it's over in May so it
wouldn't have to transfer to another
college.
and about the job
if i keep my job.. i can't go for the
medical transcription certificate
if i don't keep my job i'll be going to
PSU from 11-3 and then for my
certificate from 4-9:30 everyday...
but my parents will be on my butt
constantly..
idk i'll just give up what i want to
do...
so my brother can have what he wants...
ya know his flight school lessons, his
real estate job, whatever else he wants to
do
considering he's 25 and delivers pizzas 2
nights and makes $200/month
but my parent's "owe" him something
from what my mother says
b/c she let my grandma raise him and feels
guilty about it now
ETA: sorry guys i just needed to rant...
and all your posts are right...
thanks for letting me complain
