Numb Fingers, tingling sensation to severe pain, Raynauds! Posted: 09-25-07 22:29pm
Hi, I'm in my early twenties and I have a
reoccurring problem with the thumb and
pointer finger on my right hand. It
started with the thumb a few years ago
where it would get a tingling sensation
that would build over a few days to severe
pain like it had just been slammed in a
door. It would be constant for a few days
and gradually decrease. Over time it
spread to the pointer finger as well and
now during the worst days I can feel a
duller pain up to my shoulder. My Dr. told
me to go to a rheumatologist who tested me
for numerous things including gout,
Raynauds, rheumatoid arthritis, and
assorted autoimmune disorders. She
determined I have Raynauds (I also
complained of sensitivity to cold at my
original Dr. visit) but couldn't explain
the pain, which occurs whether my hands
are warm or cold. Most recently the skin
around my finger tips and toes looks like
it's developing small calluses and is
easily peeled off. I don't know if it's
related to everything else or if that's a
whole other thing, but if anyone has
experience anything similar and can offer
me some help I'd be extremely grateful!

Sorry if this is totally off base - But do
your hands physically get hot or cold,
too?
My hands, for years, were ice ice cold,
then they turned fire hot - Both in the
literal sense - And also were in dire
tingling pain. Never got it checked out,
though.. And it seems to have just gone
away with time.. Rare occassion to happen
now.
I also had/have Exzema, which causes
rashes and bumps to spread across my left
ring and middle finger, and has left a
hard flat 'scar' on my palm. It also
peeled off fairly easily, though pussed
and sometimes bled.
