Kidney Pain 7 Months After Passing Stone?
Posted: 09-26-07 18:15pm

Hello all,
I had a 3mm kidney stone in March of this year. It passed fine and all was good until recently I noticed that when it is time for my menstrual cycle every month my kidney starts to hurt just like when I had the stone. It hurts for about a week (usually the week after my cycle) and then stops until the next month. When I had the stone the doctor said that I did have 3 more in the other kidney. They are all about 2mm, and in the opposite kidney. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have no experience with stones but I did have an obstruction in my left kidney. What does your Dr. suggest? Have you been back to see him/her? It could be a lot of things.Hope you are now feeling better.

In the past 4 months I have pasted more then 30 stones ranging from 5mm to sand. My Dr. told me on friday that some of my pain is due to damage to my kidney and ureter. There are a lot of nerves attached to the kidneys and ureter and if damaged can create a ghost pain. That being said you should still go to you Dr. and tell him/her what is going on you could also have a stone stuck I have had that too. I had 4 scans and finally they did explorative and don't you know I have a pocket in my left ureter were a 3mm stone and 2 1mm stones were stuck. If I didn't keep pushing I would have just kept living in pain.

YOU SHOULD MENTION TO YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT THE PAIN COMING DURING YOUR menstrual CYCLE. I KNOW I HAVE HEARD THAT CAN BE A SYMPTOM OF endometriosis. I WAS GOING THRU THE SAME THING, BUT THEY RULED THAT OUT!

By the way protein stones are invisible on scans & most dr's don't believe them until they see them in person. I know
