Stigma on opoid pain med's gives me
serious confusion , i agree that someone
who has no pain what so ever and uses the
med's is in fact
(addicted) to the eurphoric feeling , but
someone who has around the clock 24 hour
pain for the last 7-8 years and uses it
stictly for the
(ddd) ( fibro) (bone spurs) etc , i do not
see it as addiction i see it as
proper pain management.
If they havent heeled/fixed it by now.....
what am i to do. I do not wish to live out
my life ''hoping'' one day they will get
lucky and figure out how to fix me , when
i can have a better life until they do.
I feel like our health care system is
almost a joke.... in these fields.
Chronic pain until we get around to the
proper diagnosis , is no longer
sufficent.
what do i do?

I don't know where you're from, but here
in Canada the medical system is a joke. I
also suffer from chronic pain and take
opiate painkillers, and conventional
medicine really has nothing else to offer
in this field.
Have you tried acupuncture? I'm about as
sceptical as they come about anything
including alternative medicine, but what
can I say? It works! I finally tried it
out of desperation and I found it brought
longer, more effective pain releif than
massage, physio, or chiropractic.
Cannabis may be a solution for you too.
For some (like myself) is offers little to
no relief, but for most it offers
substantial relief that it sometimes
supperior to opiates. I know a lot of
people aren't crazy about the idea, but
it's better for you than opiates, and a
lot less addictive (not at all addictive
for many, including myself).
If you don't like the idea of smoking, you
can buy a vaporizer. It's a device that
heats the plant matter to a point where it
releases the chemicals in a hot vapor into
the air. Because it's heated enough to be
released, but below the point of
combustion, you don't get any of the tar
and carcinogens found in smoke. There are
varrying qualities of vaporizers, however.
A "Volcano" is your best bet, with the
highest quality delivery and zero
carcinogens/tar. With a lower-end
vaporizer you may still get some of the
nasties from smoke, but it's still
substantially better than smoking.

Hi, just wanted to say I know exactly what
u mean!! I am only 32 yrs old, I have
degenerative disc disease, I found out 4
months ago i had 8 disc herniations in my
spine-i've recently had 2 surgeries to
remove 3 of them and a metal plate with
screws put in my neck! i have severe
sacroiliac pain/dysfunction, & i was
diagnosed with severe fibromyalgia last
week!! I am in so much pain 24/7!! I get
spinal nerve blocks, sacroiliac nerve
blocks, occipital nerve blocks in the back
of my head, and just got 15 trigger point
injections last week for the fibro, but i
am still in pain 24/7 & last week my
neuro wanted to start weining me off my
oxycodone, says i've been on it too long!!
i am taking vicodin now. but i think it's
a crock, they don't know what it's like to
feel like we HAVE too!!
