Buttocks Rash With Yeast Infection Posted: 09-29-07 20:10pm
Hello,
I am currently being treated for Strep
Throat. After a solid 7 days of taking
Augmentin, I developed a yeast infection.
[as usual when I am taking antibiotic of
some type, or if in contact with latex].
This yeast infection is different than any
I've had in the past because my buttocks
also has serious itching. There aren't
visible bumps [I don't normally
experience, bumps or burning with my yeast
infections, just odd discharge and
itching]. I can't tell if the area is red,
because I am african american.
I was curious if the itching on my
buttocks could be part of the yeast
infection. The itching is only on the
buttock area near the vagina, but NOT near
the anus, or upper areas of the buttocks.

Definitely- as long as you are talking
about the area around the vagina. As long
as it goes away when you treat the yeast
infection I wouldn't worry about it.
I have one now too. I feel for you!

Did you ever find out what it was? I've
been having the same thing i think....
only it's been going on for awhile on and
off. it will get really itchy and painful
and last for a week or more but then it
goes away...

Yeah, I have the same thing I think. And
I'm kind of worried because it isn't going
away really quickly. Is it supposed to
take this long? And its a lot better than
it was but now it randomly itches and is
sore from me itching it...ahhh help?
