Has anyone had ankle replacement using the SALTO ankle? It is fairly new, receiving FDA approval in 2006. It is either this or fusion. Also, does any insurance company pay for ankle replacement? Thanks

Hi Mike, I am new to this site today. You were looking for answers about the same time I fell and injured my ankle. I have just started looking into the different replacements. The surgeon I saw in Tucson, AZ. does the "Agility" replacement. This has been around a little longer than the Salto. My surgeon learned from the doctor who invented the "Agility" and he tours the country teaching other doctors how to use this method. Did you have the replacement? When did you have it? How was the recovery? Would you recommend it to others? Hope to hear from you soon. Barbara
