My brother works for a repair company and can get us a very nice place for $800 a month (1 bedroom) which is $125 less than we pay now plus the place is sooooo much nicer. Now we just have to find someone to replace us at our current apartment. I already posted on craigslist for our area so hopefully it goes soon.

On a lesser note. I just got word that I will be losing medi-cal, my government insurance, at the end of the month. It wasn't helpful to begin with since it only paid for things after I spent $850 out of pocket for the month but at least it was something in case of an expensive emergency situation. Grrr.

In the event of an expensive emergency situation, please talk to your doctor's office and/or the hospital that you use. They often cut bills down a great deal for cash payers (even if you make payments) and, in the event of huge hospital bills, they can make them way more affordable.

When my daughter and I didn't have insurance, we paid cash at our doctor's office and we paid LESS than what the doctor's office charged if we would have had insurance.

Hospitals will let you make payments.

Anyone who tells you they have medical bills in collections is silly. You shouldn't wait that long because at that point the hospital/doctors offices cannot work with you financially to lower your bills and make payment arrangements.

Good luck finding someone for your apartment!

I know. My current gyno charges 200 for a visit and it is crazy but I have to go do dysplasia. I refuse to not take care of myself because of money especially now.

Specialty doctors do cost more. Will they work with you on payments, etc?

Not really. I have to go though and I would rather be with a person who knows my history even if it costs more.

I just hope we get to move. This place is so much nice than ours with more square footage and a porch (which we do not have now).
