treatment for head lice Posted: 10-02-07 11:50am
Anybody out there dealing with the pesky
problem of head lice? Ugh! We seem to
keep recycling this problem in our
household. I believe it has reached
epidemic proportions in my kids' school,
making it impossible to keep lice away
from my kids.
I have concocted my own formulas for lice
treatment, but am not yet sure this will
keep them away!!

If the problem lies within the school, it
is your responsibility as a parent to
protect your kids.
I would report the problem to the school.
They could check each child at the school
and notify parents if their child has lice
as well. It would be almost impossible to
prevent your children from catching lice
if a lot of other kids at their school are
infected as well.
Basically you have to wash EVERYTHING.
I would treat the kids with Rid every week
if this is the case, at least until the
school is able to check each child for
lice.
I don't know what else to say.

yes make sure you are communicating with
the school nurse. If kids at school have
it, chances are, your kids will have it.
And please don't let your kids go to
school when they have it!

Try olive oil. It helps get all the knits
out when you comb through the hair after
using RID. If you don't get the knits they
will keep hatching and reoccuring. Don't
use Rid too much or they will become
immune to it. Wash and dry everything! And
there is spray you can use for furniture
and things like that. We had it with my
daughter (no fun, she has long hair) and
our nephew gave it back to her so we had
to do everything all over again. You can
also bag up things like stuffed animals,
pillows that stuff I beleive you must bag
it for like 6 weeks (not too sure of the
time). I know how you feel so good luck!!
