Anxiety Attack While Driving Posted: 10-02-07 16:33pm
Hey everyone! I have been going through
therapy again for my anxiety/panic
attacks. I had back pain that I assume hit
a nerve and my chest was tightening up and
it lasted about 15 minutes one day and
scared me throwing me into a panic attack
again:-( I had been panic attack free for
2 years.
Anyway, I have been off work for a little
over a month cause of this and the worst
thing is that I get panic attacks most
while driving! Its scary because if your
in a middle lane in traffic or stuck
behind a wreck on the interstate for hours
I feel I have no were to go!
My question is for those of you who have
had this type of problem and how do you
best coupe while driving? I got through
this 2 years ago and I WILL do it again
but reassurance from others really helps!

I have them ALL the time. That is the main
reason I do not drive as much anymore. All
of a sudden I will have a panic attack
thinking that I am lost and I am really
not. Like " Where am I". Not fun I know. I
would try and limit your driving to places
that you have been and feel comfortable
going to. Does this happen even at those
times? I does to me, that's for sure. I
have no answer for this one to be honest.
It is going to happen now and then. You
just need to try and calm yourself and
stay tuned to your surroundings.
