Okay, dude, calm it down for a minute.
What do you mean when you say "I think I
gave her too much"...did you or didn't
you? (i'm not angry you just have to think
straight right now)
If you did, you need to go to the ER Vet
now with that information and the
medication. Depending on when she got her
meds, they could give her activated
charcoal and make her vomit.
If you didn't, well, hell, she still needs
to go to the vet so she does not dehydrate
from diarrhea. She could be having an
allergic reaction. You need to make sure
she is hydrated...use a turkey baster of
water or a dropper (depending on her size)
and force fluids into her system.
8 hour wait If you storm in
there hell and high water they have to do
something. Or find a new clinic.
Hope everything is alright!!!

What meds did you give? I work in a vets
office and regularly fill perscriptions
and may be able to help. What is the
weight of the puppy and the amount of meds
you gave?

shes still too thin
she woke up and played a little bit and
then fell asleep on travis lap
im going to go buy her some canned food

Didn't the vet say what the stuff was when
you called? What would be the overdose
symptoms to watch for, etc?
Good luck.

Call your vet right now. Side effects do
include staggering, diahrrea, vomiting,
depression and dialated pupils so it could
just be that but since you think you gave
a higher dosage you really need to call
and talk with a doctor or someone who is
familiar with this drug. It is uncommon to
be perscribed this drug since most vets
treat this type of mange through medicated
dips.

Good. They will be able to help you
better since they can see your puppy and
the symptoms. Why exactly did they decide
to treat with meds rather than a dip?

i have an appt at the white angel clinic
at 1:15
i have no idea why they didnt use the
dips
shes only about 5 weeks old so that may be
a reason
plus she was thrown from a moving truck
and infasted with hookworms so that might
be a factor also
i just wanna thank you so much for helping
me

It could be. Medicated dips are normally
only for pups over 12 weeks. They might
have been trying to kill two birds with
one stone with the meds as well. Go in
and check. Also, since you are pregnant,
I would be careful around a pup with worms
etc. It would not be good to contract any
of these thing right now.

hey guys i just got back from the vet
ok so its good and bad news
when we took her in they did parvo test
nope not parvo
they said shes severly dehydrated
her blood count is low
her protein is low
she had a few worms but not enough to be
causing the bleeding
the vet couldnt understand why the hell
they gave me ivermectin for the pup
she was furious
ivermectin is used for cows and she said
no puppy that young and in the condition
should EVER be takeing iveremctin
so anyways they said they wanted to run a
cathader on her and give her some
meds...so i had my drs appt at 3:30 and so
they said to go take care of what we
needed to do and then come back at 5:30 to
get her
so we went to the drs
i didnt get to go to my moms
but then we went and bought a collar and
charms and outfits for penut because the
vet said she should be ok
so we went back tot he vet at 5:30 to get
her and the vet says she needed to talk to
us and stuff
so we go back and she said penut ate
really well and they rehydrated her and
so she was doing better
she had IV fluids in her and everything,
but the diarea was continuosly blowing out
of the other end and they have no idea
why
that she is anemic
and may need a blood transfusion which
would cost $2000
well the cost today was $400 bucks
so we paid that and the vet said she
wanted to see us back at 10 am tomarrow
they left the cathader in and right now
penut is asleep on the chair
well, bad news is the vet told me "hun i
want to tell you this because you are
pregnant. now im 50 yrs old and i have
kids so i know that when you are preg your
hormones are crazy...penut only has a
50/50 chance...we will check her
tomarrow...and if shes doing ok we will
give her a few days and then you can come
back ijn a week and we will check her
again... if not then tomarrow you may have
to make a tough decition and it will be
hard but youll be getting into the
thousands in vet bills at the wrong time
because soon your going to have bills of
your own...and a baby. and yeah you will
cry and be upset but eventually youll get
over it and know that it was meant to
happen"
so
i dont know whats going to happen. all i
know is im too tired and stresse
i miss my mom
im spending money i dont have to spend
right now...and i just want her to be
better. if tomarrow shes not better then i
know what im going to have to do but i
dont know if i can do that. i dont know if
i can say to let her go
i cant...
so to top it off my glucose test came back
that my iron is too low and now im on iron
tablets
i hope this puppy makes it
if everyone could please keep her in your
thoughts
thanks for the help
