have u changed her diet at all lately? Do you have things like mouse/bug bait around the house he could have gotten ahold of and chewed up/ingested?

I believe they just got the puppy. There are some at-home remedies for diahrea in dogs. Feeding bland diets like unseasoned chicken and rice or cottage cheese sparingly tends to help as well.

yeah its a infection in her intestines
plus the hookworm infestation was horrible
plus all the stress
plus her anemia now
plus the diarea

we started her on amoxacillin(sp?) and gave her some kaeopectate
the vet told us give her chicken too

Yeah, that should do. Antibiotics are known for causing diahrea in some instances and an infection will not help. You can also try force feeding her some pedialyte to get the electrolytes back in that hse is loosing with her illness

Hi there... How is peanut now? I hope that he's ok. I am sorry that you're going through all of this. Do you still volunteer at an animal shelter. Maybe they can help peanut, if they have a 'shelter vet' Or can you go on a payment plan to pay back in small payments. OR is there a vet school there that can help you for less. I hope that Peanut gets better.. Good luck S!

hey shes doing alot better
shes kept two feedings down so far with little diarea so im hopeing she will keep it up
yes i still partner with town lake and killeen animal services and there is nothing they can do at this point
they have vet techs basically for shots and stuff
nothing like this
so im using the vet i use for all my rescues shots and checkups...but its going to be expensive no matter what. they dont do payment plans there Sad and so far i have paid everything up front
its killed us in the money part
i had 6 grand put away in the bank for after the baby was born...but after this...i have no idea how much will be left
plus we have to get the car fixed
because as of right now im done with rescueing until next summer after the baby is born
i wanna focus on penut...and plus the baby will be here in 10 weeks maybe sooner so i think its time to slow down for a while

she goes back to the vet tomarrow again
if alls well and shes keeping her food down they will take the cathader and IV out of her leg...if she doesnt do well tonight and doesnt respond and looses all her stools then we dont have a choice but to let her go...so far its ok though

she ate a special formula the vet gave her twice mixed with a little chicken. and she kept her antibiotics down and she took kaeopectate for her diarea

i just hope hope hope she makes it through this

no she didnt get ahold of anything
shes literally been by my side 24-7 since the second i got her

she was sick from the beginning but the ivermectin mads made it worse
basically she has no immune system right now
loosing blood
dieare causing sever dehydration
the hook worm infestation
stress from moving from place to place, thrown from a car and switched diets caused this

Ivermectin did seem extreme. They could have done a dip and used a lower dose med to treat the worms and you might now have been in this situation. I hope she feels better!

And just so you know if the cause was a sudden switch in diet it should clear up in a few days.
