Help Please, I Need Massive Help. In Pain !! Posted: 10-04-07 08:11am
I am hoping someone will read this and
tell me best place to go for help.
I am a 37 year old female, American
living in the UK/England , First.
Born with Cerebral palsy.
I have experience some pain in my calf of
my leg and the doctors are puzzled to why.
and pretty much told me nothing more can
be done except pain pills and just try to
over come it.
In 2003 I had a bad fall at a gas station
and injured my knee, and due to hyper
mobility is the only thing that save it,
basically being double jointed. My leg
went up under neath me when I fell and I
injured some muscles in my knee, due to
having cerebral palsy, my muscles once
weak cannot regain strength, so with the
fall it damaged that, I have been fitted
for a proper brace and waiting to receive
that. Right now wearing this Velcro brace
and it seems to be working.
A few Saturdays ago, is when something
freaky happened. I turned over in bed, as
normal , and something in calf Popped! I
went to the local walk in clinic like
urgent care in the USA, and was told
possible muscle rupture, but due to they
did not have proper equipment could not
evaluate and also, nothing can really
detect a muscle , any time we damage
muscles, So I am told, It is hard to
detect.
Well they increased this pain patch I am
wearing for the pain in knee and giving me
muscle relaxers, well those were making
me ill, and feeling very groggy, so I went
to my family doctor and told, Nothing
more can be done, You have had mri, cat
scans and all that, and we cannot find why
this is happening, just something you have
to deal with. You have been referred to
pain specialist, reumologist, a surgeon, a
orthopedic. Nothing more can be done.
When asked, isn't there any specialist
that 1 deal with cerebral palsy can they
not help, was told no such thing in the
UK.
When asked anyone specialize in muscle
deterioration, was told no that doesn't
exist.
It must exist, just I am not sure where
to go to find it, CAN ANYONE please help
me , I AM not willing to just sit down in
a wheelchair and give up. I understand
this can be a real possibility due to all
my life been told eventually it will
happen, However, I have just lost a TON of
weight, and if I do not exercise It will
pile back on.
Please, if you have experienced something
like this, or suffer with something like
this please contact me, I am desperate
for answers.
Thank you very much for reading.
